Sphere of Infinite Lightning

Spheres of inifnite lightning are used as a reactor core by some ships, for example the Djinn's Gift. They are able to run indefinitely so long as there is ambient mana.

They consist of a sphere dotted with runes to both generate and contain the ravening bolts of electricity that rage within. These bolts lance out from one side of the sphere to another, only to be absorbed and converted to energy by the electrical systems interfaced with it.

Spheres of infinite lightning are incredible feats of enchanting, many of them requiring the work of a dozen magi in concert to create. At the same time, they’re also incredibly dangerous.
