Fey

Fey are magical creatures that exist in many shapes and forms. One thing common to them all is their code of hospitality.
Fey rules of hospitality are ironclad, but they also have a great many loopholes which can be taken advantage of. If you're officially welcomed as a guest, you're not going to be physically harmed, but that leaves a large number of things they can do. The legends of people going to a party and coming out a century older exist for a reason. Charm magic isn't considered against the rules.
Most fey are protective of children, considering how few they tend to have.
