Dryad

Dryads are a species with great affinity for nature. Most of their magic is tied to plants and each dryad has their own special tree to which they are bonded. They will weaken and eventually die if they remain too far from their bonded tree for too long. Under normal circumstances, dryads have a very long life and have been known to reach the age of two and a half millennia before dying.
Although there are male dryads, they are outnumbered almost ten to one by females.
Dryad ships are not common. They are incredibly difficult to build, and have some of the least efficient uses of space of any ships in the known galaxy. However a Dryad Grove Ships are some of the best terraformers available.
Dryad colonies have been statistically proven to improve a planet’s habitability and long-term sustainability by a large margin.

Biological Traits

Dryads have slightly green-tinted skin. Their hair colors normally vary based on the current season where they live. Eye color varies, many dryads have eyes that mirror the petals of flowers.

Behaviour

Dryads will ask for help if they need it, but only after sharing a meal with visitors.
They appreciate gifts made with the giver's own hands and can sense when this is the case.
