9.1 - Novakid

¤ Characteristics = The Novakids are humanoid beings composed entirely of helium and hydrogen, most of them have a brand acting as a face, their color scheme can vary drastically and have more or less no limitations. Novakids do not have blood and do not feel as much pain as a human if their limbs are cut off, sickness is a non-existent concept for them, but they tend to be extremely weak to raw electrical currents and dark matter. They are excellent marksmen and emanate more energy when exposed to the light of any stars or any radioactive element. They also have a really bad memory, making them forget even the most important things, however, there have been records of some Novakids having a good memory even for human standards. The actual lifespan of the species has not yet been found as not a single Novakid died from “old age” yet.


¤ Origins = Nobody really knows as to where the Novakids originate from, their feeble memory is one of the reasons for the loss of their history. Some theories were made that the Novakids were previously a species using a Hivemind of sorts, their society would have been composed entirely of literal gas bags (or "gas farts" -- Doc. Melinium) with a single massive solid entity acting as the core of the species. The theory was contested and eventually thrown away because of the claim that the core was destroyed by a human rocket that was launched centuries ago. The result of the event would have been the destruction of the Starr’Idylliacs (The previously mentioned "gas bags'') as well as the creation of a new species, the Novakids. As for their fixation with their "western-themed" culture, the same theory explains that a few "western" human movies were on that rocket, as it exploded, the data could have fused with each fragments of the Starr’Idylliacs' core, eventually creating the brands for each Novakid.
¤ Situation = In this day and age, Novakids live freely for the most part. They are present in the entirety of the Galaxy and tend to work as mercenaries; bounty-hunters or merchants. They do not have an actual political system outside of the basic rules for their towns and cities, so rallying their entire species to a cause is exceptionally difficult. A few years back, the Penguins from Mobius started abducting Novakids to experiment on them and use their energy for their own ends. They ultimately succeeded in creating capsules in which the captured Novakids were put into to act as Living Batteries. The idea was then stolen by the Miniknog who industrialized the whole process. An intelligence leak happened 3 years ago, leading to the discovery of this barbary, it is not yet known to everyone in the galaxy but the blame gets put on the Miniknog, whereas the Penguins escaped the backlash by sheer lack of information on the discoverers' part. However, Varkain Labs. discovered that Mobius was behind this and that they still had the knowledge to continue their work. Thus started the Arcane War, sparked by the greed of a MegaCorp trying to understand the very nature of magic and energy.
It is at the same moment that many Penguins started working on their own and did not ally themselves with any kind of organization, but that is another story.
¤ Specialty = Novakids do not really have any kind of specialty aside from their unparalleled marksmanship and their amazing adaptability, almost rivaling Humans.
