Infurnite
Properties
Material Characteristics
Infurnite is a brownish rusty looking metal with cracks that appear to look like molten lava.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Infurnite is naturally unstable, it is very malleable and is hot to the touch along the molten cracks.
Compounds
Infurnite is used in the Elementium Alloy
Geology & Geography
Infurnite can be found in pockets of lava deep in the underdark
Origin & Source
Infurnite was created during the Mana Perforation in the underdark when magic infused itself into the metals around lava pits. It was later discovered that it could be made fairly easily through mana smithing.
Life & Expiration
Infurnite is very unstable and can be burnt out very easily if not kept at extremely high tempuratures until tempered. upon expiration, it may loose its glow and need to be reignited, or it has a small chance to explode.
History & Usage
Discovery
Infurnite was first discovered by a mana smith while they were trapped in the underdark looking for a source of light to replace their torches.
Everyday use
Infurnite is commonly used to help start fires as it absorbs even a spark of energy when inert to become hot enough to start fires.
Refinement
A mana smith may take Infurnite in a natural state and refine it into a purer form that is far more stable.
Manufacturing & Products
fire starting kits
Instant torches
Flash Pots of Fire
Hazards
If the temperatures of Infurnite are not kept there is a chance it may explode when next ignited if it wasn't refined properly.
Environmental Impact
Infurnite lost on the surface during a battle can cause explosions on hot days.
Reusability & Recycling
Infurnite may be reused indefinitely until it explodes due to its instability.
Distribution
Storage
Infurnite is often stored in forges and high temperature locations in order to minimize its destructive potential by accident
