Apparel & Accessories

In battle, she wears lamellar armor made from scales of iron and hardened leather. Underneath, she wears bright one-tone silk vests. Her iron helmet bears symbols of forked lightning across the face.   She is famous for the leatherskin gauntlet she once wore, bearing a single red eye, called the Bracer of Mim. She no longer holds the sentient weapon after they—and her left arm—were torn from her by a dragon's bite.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The daughter of revolutionary soldiers, Thana was a dwarf from Galen, Urdun, a city built for giants and reclaimed by her people. Since her childhood, she worshipped the spirits of the land, dormant since the enslavement of the Urdunnir. She was conscripted in the randomized draft and joined the Urdunirr Republic Army at age 35.   Discovering a talent for spellsword, she was trained as a warmage under Bek Erketu. He drilled her and her fellow initiates in the casting of spells most useful for laying down destruction, confusing an enemy, or screening an allied action. Thana honed and developed her art through action rather than study, drilling constantly with weapon work in tandem with spells. She grew a deep feeling of camaraderie with her fellow initiates.   Later, she developed the Temujin [iron-man] magic style, relying on technical sword skill and studying from the arcane magic of mineral quasi-elementals.   Thana mastered battle tactics and warfare during the various incursions of Mountain Giants across the Ramsbane River, and eventually developed a personal vendetta against the Surntra Empire, as the government refused to ally the formerly occupied Urdun to whom they were obligated by treaty to support. After becoming a warlord, Thana embarked on a quest to restore her kingdom's heir apparent, Princess Rayyan, to health, an act that many scholars point to as the catalyst of the Profane War.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Most tales tell of her win in the Battle of Imskray where she felled two giants herself by her own blade, the legendary Bracer of Mim. After the battle, Princess Rayyan bestowed upon Thana the title of a baronet. Baronet Thana took to heart her princess's challenge of finding a cure and set off on a quest to the Wingspan Mountains with only her loyal weapon by her side.   -The Concise History of the Profane War

Morality & Philosophy

Though loyal to Urdun and her people, Thana is ultimately driven by love and devotion to her queen. In her advanced age, Thana has become increasingly embittered by the sacrifices that were made in the apparent name of peace and war.
