The Dwarves
In The northern reaches of the Continent Stands a range of Old and mighty mountains known to all as the Crowns' Head. Deep beneath these Mountains lie vast underground kingdoms connected by networks of large interconnecting tunnels. These ancient kingdoms are home to one of the oldest races on the face of Aurora... The Dwarves.
The Dwarves are a Hearty people, Short of height, and strong of Heart, and will. All the great dwarven kingdoms all descend from their own respective ancestor. All connected to the first of their kind Garren.
Deep beneath the mountains of the Crowns head, lie 5 great dwarven cities, Tanamar, The greatest and the capital of the Dwarven realm, The Seat of power where the High King sits upon his throne of diamonds and stone.
The dwarves of the Crown head, are known throughout the land as master black smiths, and craftsmen, as well as epic warriors worthy of song. The dwarves are also know for their love of gold, constantly digging deeper into the earth searching and mining form great and vast riches such such as diamonds rubies, gold and more hidden deep within the mountains store.
For the longest time ever since the rise of the empire The Dwarves and the Men of the empire have stood side by side, fighting off the greater threats that dare to attack and harm Astaria.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Most dwarven sur names are honorifics earned in battle or great deeps done, simply for family lineage
example: Kraddic Stone fist, or Throm Iron Axe, or Drendal Bright hammer or simply Cole Mallakson.
Female example: Talia black thorn. Thannis Bear breaker or Mora Oamsdotter.
Major Organizations
Aside from the Great Dwarven kingdoms, the Dwarves have a great number of Guilds that they manage, Such as the Dwarven Mining Guild, and The Dwarven merchants Guilds.
Average Technological Level
The dwarves are master engineers, and have attained many technological advancements, such as Black powder weapons, and creating a form of electricity generated by water wheels (Due to the underground rivers that run through if not all the dwarven cities.)
History
It is said that in the beginning Orogon looked out over the land and raised his mighty hammer, and brought it down. The following strike rippled through out the land and formed the many mountains of the world.
From these mountains Orogon took the very tips, and began to shape, and forge them into his children... The Dwarves.
The first of his Children would be known to all as Garren, or 'Garren Stone born.' and he would be the first High King of the dwarves. Orogon would create other dwarves, and then teach them the ways of the forge and of the axe and of the riches of the earth. After Orogon taught his children he left them to their own devices, and from then onwards the Dwarves would then dig deep into the earth and build great and mighty underground kingdoms, they would become rich from the wealth of that lie beneath the earth, and they would forge the greatest weapons that the world would every sea.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
The dwarves have made alliances with all the races of Astaria, and have maintained a common companionship among the humans, Elves, and even the Orcs. But the Wood elves don't really trust the dwarves due to their constant wood cutting.
