Great Dragons
Name: Great Dragons. These dragons are the sole dragon species to have and maintain a human form (there are other species of dragons that cannot take a human form and thus cannot be played).
Deity: Varies depending on where they are from.
Lifespan: The oldest great dragons still living are a few years shy of five thousand
Procreation: Oviparous sexual reproduction. Dragons lay hundreds of eggs at a time. Out of those hundreds of eggs, most will become smaller dragons, or other forms of drake. It is only expected that maybe one of those eggs will be a great dragon, and the likelihood of that one great dragon making it to adulthood is very small. Other predators and hunters will dwindle that number down if the nest is found.
Organization: None, they exist mainly as loners, though some will mate for life.
Language: They have their own separate language that relies heavily on clicks and growls, and they can generally communicate well with other snakes and lizards.
Appearance: All of the great dragons have two forms. Smaller drakes, wyrms, and wyverns do not have a human form, while a great dragon does. Their draconic appearance varies between a snake like body or a thicker, more reptilian one, with variances in scales, color, wings, claws, and other differences depending on what type of dragon they are. (i.e. Sea dragons are likely to have fins, and webbed claws, whereas a fire dragon might have a larger crown and more slender claws.)
Strengths: This varies depending upon what kind of dragon they are, however there are a few universal strengths.
- Stronger than average, and harder to kill.
- Heightened senses, even in human form
- Breath weapons (fire, magma, ice, etc)
- Ability to communicate with snakes, lizards, etc of any size
- Flight. Even with small or non-existent wings, they are capable of flight
- They do not have a singular magical focus, but instead can pull on multiple ones. Because they have no focus, they also cannot master any single focus.
- The treasure horde. Every dragon has a horde, something they collect that is precious to them.
- Frequently hunted. Nearly every part of a dragon has magic imbued in it, making any part of them extremely valuable.
- Specialized weapon: a specific lance has to be created with iron and have blood of that specific dragon mixed into it in order to kill them in their dragon form.
