Tentacle. Melee Weapon Attack: +18 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 28 (4d8 + 10) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 18). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and Angharad can't use this tentacle on another target.

Psychic Wave (Costs 2 Actions). Angharad forces each creature in a 30-foot radius centered on itself to make a DC 22 Wisdom saving throw. Angharad magically teleports, along with any equipment it is wearing or carrying, up to 120 feet to an unoccupied space it can see.

Angharad is not a single entity, but rather a manifestation of the Deep, a demi-plane of swirling chaos and primal power. When an avatar of Angharad is destroyed, the connection to the Deep is severed, but the Deep itself endures. Within 2d6 days, the Deep can reform a new avatar, drawing upon its boundless energy to recreate the monstrous form.

Each avatar is a conduit for a portion of the Deep's power. While multiple avatars can exist simultaneously, each one diminishes the overall strength and focus of the Deep. The more avatars that exist, the weaker each individual avatar becomes, as the Deep's power is divided among them.

Whenever an avatar of Angharad is created or destroyed, roll 2d6. This is the number of days until a new avatar can manifest. If multiple avatars are destroyed simultaneously, roll separately for each one.

Avatars and Challenge Rating: The challenge rating of an Angharad avatar is directly affected by the number of active avatars:
1 Avatar: Challenge rating 23 as presented.
2 Avatars: Each avatar's challenge rating is reduced to 21.
3 Avatars: Each avatar's challenge rating is reduced to 19.
4 or More Avatars: Each avatar's challenge rating is reduced to 17.

Additional Considerations:

Number of Avatars Challenge Rating Hit Points Effective STR Effctive DEX Psychic Blast Damage

1 CR 23 - 350 (28d12 + 168) 30 (+10) 12 (+1) 45 (10d8
2 CR 21 - 290 (23d12 + 138) 28 (+9) 10 (+0) 38 (8d8)
3 CR 19 - 230 (18d12 + 108) 26 (+8) 8 (-1) 31 (6d8)
4 CR 17 - 170 (13d12 + 78) 24 (+7) 6 (-2) 24 (4d8)

Avatars of Angharad share a telepathic link, allowing them to communicate and coordinate their actions across vast distances. The destruction of an avatar deals a significant blow to the Deep, but it is not a permanent defeat. The Deep will always seek to reestablish its presence in the material plane through its avatars.

Destroying multiple avatars in a short period can weaken the Deep considerably, potentially making it vulnerable to more decisive action. However, such a feat is fraught with peril, as each avatar is a formidable opponent in its own right.

The Maw of the Abyss

The Maw as a Cosmic Anomaly

The Maw of the Abyss is not merely a physical vortex; it is a tear in the fabric of reality, a wound in the world where the raw, unfiltered power of Chaos seeps into the material plane. This cosmic anomaly is a source of both terror and fascination, drawing those who seek power and those who wish to contain it.

Physical Description

The Maw manifests as a colossal whirlpool, a swirling vortex of darkness that seems to consume all light and matter that ventures too close. The waters around it are perpetually turbulent, whipped into a frenzy by unnatural currents and storms. Strange, otherworldly lights flicker beneath the surface, hinting at the monstrous creatures that dwell within. The air crackles with chaotic energy, and the very atmosphere seems to warp and twist around the Maw's edges.

The Gateway to the Abyssal Depths

The Maw serves as a gateway to Angharad's domain, a nightmarish demiplane that exists outside the normal laws of reality. This realm is a twisted reflection of the deepest oceans, filled with grotesque and mutated creatures that have been warped by Angharad's chaotic influence. The landscape is a labyrinth of jagged coral formations, the ruins of sunken civilizations, and bottomless trenches that seem to stretch into infinity.

The Cult of the Devouring Deep

The Cult of the Devouring Deep is a secretive organization that worships Angharad and seeks to expand her influence. They believe that the world is destined to be consumed by chaos and that Angharad is the ultimate force of destruction and rebirth. The cult's members are drawn from all walks of life, united by their desperation, their thirst for power, or their twisted fascination with the abyss.

Cultist Hierarchy

The cult is organized into a strict hierarchy, with each rank representing a deeper level of devotion and corruption:

Initiates: New recruits who undergo trials of pain and sacrifice to prove their loyalty.

Acolytes: Cultists who have embraced the chaotic energies of Angharad and wield minor eldritch powers.

Drowned Champions: Elite warriors who have undergone physical transformations, becoming monstrous hybrids of flesh and sea creature.

High Priests/Priestesses: Leaders of the cult's cells, who possess immense power and can communicate directly with Angharad.

The Cult's Agenda

The cult's ultimate goal is to bring about the apocalypse, ushering in an era of darkness and chaos where Angharad reigns supreme. They believe that by expanding the Maw and corrupting the world's oceans, they can hasten Angharad's ascension and fulfill their twisted prophecy.

The Cosmic Conflict

The Cult of the Devouring Deep is opposed by the forces of Law, who seek to contain Angharad's influence and maintain the balance of the world. This conflict is a central theme in the world of Asphodel, driving many of the major plotlines and adventures.

Divine Domains

Primary Domain:

Additional Considerations:

Ultimately, the choice of Divine Domain for an Angharad cleric would depend on the specific campaign setting and the player's preferences. However, the Tempest and Death domains provide a solid foundation for a cleric who embodies the chaotic and destructive nature of the Deep God.

The god believes that individuals should be free to pursue their desires, regardless of the consequences.

Survival of the Fittest: Angharad embraces the Darwinian concept of survival of the fittest, believing that only the strong and cunning deserve to thrive. It views weakness as a liability, a trait that should be exploited or eliminated.

Raiding coastal settlements and plundering their resources.
Sabotaging infrastructure and disrupting trade routes.
Assassinating political leaders and undermining social order.
Performing dark rituals to appease Angharad and gain its favor.

.
Angharad's followers believe that these actions are justified by the god's teachings, which emphasize the importance of individual freedom, the pursuit of power, and the embrace of chaos.
