Neverlight Monastery

Nestled in the sleepy Neverlight Mountain range to the north west of Greypeak is the monastery of the Neverlight Brotherhood. The monsatery has stood for almost a millennium, originally founded by twin grandmasters of the martial arts who hailed from another monastery deeper and more reclusive in the mountains. For centuries the mantle of grandmaster has been passed down from one to the next to now it is held by Grandmaster Urum.   Withing the last few centuries a council of masters has formed under the guidance of the standing Grandmaster, that help to bear the burden of training and administration of the monastery. Today the council stands at five:   Uruk Mesh
A half orc male Uruk Mesh achieved this position by overpowering the former holder of it: Lord Carl Braggot, an older gentleman that had needed to retire for a while. Uruk defeated him in an Hyakuk Kai or honorable combat of numbers; in other words he challenged him to fight and all that would fight beside him. Lord Braggot was well liked but the number of students and acolytes that came to fight with him could not defeat the powerful half orc. Uruk has always asked a great deal from his students. Very few made it to brother but those that did were among the strongest. He was a strong supporter of not training the strongest initiates.   Viante Reush
A human male, Viante earned his place on the council by offering up good decisions and achieved the rank of senior master or a master that has been active in the brotherhood for more than a decade.   Tecumseh Girah
A dragonborn male, Tecumseh Girah was appointed to the council after winning the tournament of masters five years in a row. This tournament was a friendly set of battles where the masters competed for points or successful attacks and successfully blocked or avoided attacks that were counted up for points. The rules are very rigid and one is given ten attacks then they must receive ten attacks and they do this three times before going to the next fight. The one with the most points wins the tournament. Tecumseh won enough times, that everyone really only was competing for second place. This was enough for Viante to want him on the council and it was agreed on by Urum and the rest of the council.   Kalika Sakamoto
A human male, Kalika Sakamoto was appointed to the council by Urum before any of the others as they are good friends and more initiates made it to brother under his strict tutelage than any other in their lifetime.   Harrupi Kasigari
A human male, Harrupi Kasigari was appointed because he had helped some of the most difficult students make it through the final trials. Viante originally opposed his appointment but later endorsed it as Harrupi had done his best with what he had for students but was now of the opinion that only those with the best talents should be taught. This played into Viante’s plans for the Brotherhood.
