The 8th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, North of Marfallow Deep Inside a Mine Shaft
Immediately following the battle the party enters into the large central room. Surrounding the room are glyphs on all the walls. The room has been excavated into and it doesn’t appear to have any entrance. The party cautiously enters the room. Slowly the party approaches a table near the pedestal at the center of the room. On the other side of the pedestal is a set of tables with papers on them and a book. The party started to read through the papers on one of the tables and found manifests and notes about the excavation. After examining the book Milo recognized the symbol on the amulet as the same one that Falstaff was wearing. Suddenly a voice came out laughing saying they weren’t going anywhere, a creature appears becoming corporeal it appears to be like the specters the party had encountered before, but larger.
Dungeon Boss - Wraith
Ghesh moves and attacks it with his sword and hits, dealing 6 damage.
Vex moves and attacks with his scimitar dealing 8 damage.
Dink moves to cover behind the pedestal and shoots his crossbow hitting and dealing 6 damage.
Kobo is set to dodge
The wraith moved incorporeally around Vex and attempted to life drain Dex but was deflected by Kobo.
Milo yells out to Vex to move to his right and then cast a magic missile at the Wraith dealing 7 damage.
Moloch throws a dart at the Wraith hitting it, dealing 4 damage.
Ghesh moves and attacks the Wraith hitting it with his sword dealing 5 damage.
Vex moves and attacks the Wraith with his scimitar hitting it dealing 8 damage.
Dink adjusted to the right and shot his crossbow hitting the wraith dealing 6 damage.
Kobo is set to dodge.
The Wraith disappeared and then reappeared behind Dink and touched him, dealing 18 damage, but Dink made his Constitution Save.
Milo moved and then cast scorching ray, two of the rays missed hitting the wall behind. One of the rays hits the Wraith dealing 7 damage.
Moloch threw another dart hitting the Wraith dealing 3 damage.
Ghesh uses sacred weapon and moves near the Wraith.
Vex charges the Wraith and hits it with his Scimitar dealing 9 damage.
The Wraith turned and attacked Vex hitting him, dealing 23 damage, Vex failed his saving throw and was limited to 1 HP until a long rest.
Ghesh moved and attacked the Wraith with his sword missing it.
Vex withdrew to the other end of the battlefield.
Dink used his Lightning Rod and cast Green Flame Blade hitting the Wraith dealing 5 damage
Kobo attacked the Wraith using shield bash dealing 3 damage.
The Wraith disappeared and then reappeared by Milo and attacked him with Life Drain but missed.
Milo retreated and cast magic missile at the 2nd level spot dealing 12 damage killing the Wraith.
The Wraith disappeared into mist and then the party gathered up all of the books and papers and then the party searched the remaining part of the dungeon finding nothing. The party decided to leave the dungeon. It was mid to late afternoon when they exited the dungeon.
The party decided to stay in the same house they had stayed in the night before and walked to the house. They found the house just as they had left it. The party discussed going back to Weatherdeep and reporting what they had found to the Empress. Dink cast identify on the amulet but found it not magical. Everyone enjoys a ration. The party discussed what happened to all of the skeletons. Milo looked through the spellbook and found the following spells: Spare the Dying, Chill touch, False Life, Inflict Wounds, Ray of Sickness, Ray of Enfeeblement, Summon Undead. The party talks a little more then goes to bed. Ghesh stays up for a few hours but nods off.
The 9th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, In Marfallow in an Abandoned House (The same House they had previously stayed in)
In the morning the party gets up and prepared for the day. The party agrees to set out for Weatherdeep. The party heads south and passes the cottage where they had the battle with the Wight and Ghouls. They continue further until they reach the small hill with trees where they had stayed the night the first night. The party decides to stop for a short rest at the hill and eats some rations. After the rest the party continues on walking through the night.
The 10th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, on the Road to Weatherdeep a few miles east of the Crossroads
After 24 hours of travel Dink and Moloch were both very tired and had 1 level of exhaustion. The party passes the crossroads and heads to Weatherdeep. Later the party passes another group of travelers. They greet one another. Ghesh reads more of the papers finding it describe the Anti-Stone, how it made the finder have joy, how it is a glass orb with pure darkness. They discuss Falstaff’s involvement in this group with the symbol on it. Moloch recognizes the symbol as having an association with a group of powerful wizards called The League of Twilight. The party agrees to meet with Empress Taliah as soon as possible to let her know about what is going on.
The party continues toward Weatherdeep and within a few hours reaches the Patch. The party made their way to the city center and eventually into the palace. The Empress was summoned and the party waited until they came. Ghesh explained what happened on their adventure and showed the evidence concerning Falstaff. The Empress recognized Falstaff’s amulet and summoned him to explain himself.
When Falstaff arrived the Empress questioned him concerning his involvement. He became agitated and there was a scuffle where the guards tried to suppress him. Eventually he fled using a magic teleportation ring that used the same incantation that was used in the Anti-Chamber. The Empress sent the party home to get rest and she would call on them in the morning.
Dink and Ghesh went to the temple and told the same thing to the head of Ghesh’s order. He described the same thing to him. They discussed the scriptures of Ava and possible scriptures of Nyxos. He charges them to dig into this situation.
Meanwhile Vex, Milo and Moloch returned to Dink’s house and began to rest. Vex and Milo discussed the possibility of how Necromancers work and who could be involved. The party went to bed and got good sleep.
The 11th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, The Heights of Weatherdeep, Dink Valeran’s House
In the morning the party was awakened by a knock at the door. The royal guards and the royal emissary tell Milo (who opened the door) that the party has been summoned to the throne of the Empress at 10am. Everyone prepares their morning routines.
When they met the Empress again they began to discuss the horde of skeletons and where they may have gone. Further they discussed Falstaff and his escape and that all of his personal effects had been taken from his chambers.
As they are talking there are alot of noises coming from out of the chamber. Soon the Doors are thrown open and construct soldiers push their way into the chamber though the party resists. When the constructs enter they suddenly stop and the Grand Artificer enters and declares his intention for insurrection. He then tells his soldiers to kill everyone and capture the Empress.
Battle of the Throne Room.
- Dink takes a shot at the Grand Artificer but misses.
- Ghesh releases his breath weapon hitting 4 of them but only dealt 5 damage.
- Moloch uses flurry of blows and didn’t hit one of the clockwork soldiers
- The Guards attack the Clockwork Soldiers but don’t do much damage.
- The Clockwork Soldiers attack back but don’t do much damage.
- The Captain of the Guard yells “Get her out of here!” to Ghesh.
- Milo casts Web covering the area in a thick sticky web.
- Dink takes a shot at a Clockwork Soldier but it bounces off his armor.
- Ghesh retreats to the back of the room where there is a back door.
- Moloch jumps to the back of the room and the whole
The party retreats into the hallway and Moloch bars the door. The party finds a spiral staircase that goes down many stories. Along the way Moloch bars other doors. The party continues until they reach a dungeon where prisoners are kept. In the last cell they find the Ranger from before. They let him out of the cell and he introduces himself as Galad. The party goes into an emergency tunnel and follows it for a while until they leave Weatherdeep. At the end of the tunnel they exit to see the city of Weatherdeep on fire and the sounds of battle and screaming coming from the city.
