Journal - Session 6 - The Road to Marfallow

General Summary


The 5th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, The Heights of Weatherdeep, Dink Valeran’s House   The next morning there was a knock at the door and there was the Imperial Herald and a few Royal Guards were carrying a wooden chest. They brought it into Dink’s house and set it down and said it was complements of the Empress for their journey. The Herald and guards then left. The party opened up the chest and found it full of potions.   The party went about their morning routines and prepared for the day. Dink had worked almost all night and came down from his workshop with a new construct servant. Dink had named his new friend Kobo. The party went out and looked for odd jobs to help pay for Moloch’s new magical tattoos. After searching they were able to pick up some delivery jobs and a few jobs painting houses in the Heights. After a full day of work the party was able to gather up enough money to purchase two of the three tattoos that Moloch wanted. Moloch went to the magic shop later that afternoon and was able to get his tattoos.   Milo and Vex left Dink’s house and went to the weaponsmith’s shop and collected Vex’s weapons that he had commissioned to build. The party reconvened at Dink’s house and had dinner. Then they packed up all of the supplies they needed for the upcoming journey to Marfallow and loaded up their packs and Dink’s cargo hold. The party then prepared for bed and turned in for the night.   The 6th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, The Heights of Weatherdeep, Dink Valeran’s House   The next morning the party awoke early before the sun and prepared for the day. After all preparations were made the party set out for Marfallow. They walked out of Weatherdeep and headed out of the Patch south bound. They walked to the crossroads to Weston and continued south and east.   Along the road they speculated about what happened in Marfallow, and Vex whistled. The party briefly stopped for lunch and noticed that they hadn’t seen or passed by anyone on the road.   Early in the evening they passed the crossroads that lead to Centercross to the east or Marfallow to the north. They noticed that the crossroads on the sign that leads to Marfallow the word “Marfallow” was crossed out with a bladed object of some kind. The party turned north and marched until they almost didn’t have any light left and finding a grove of trees on a small hill they set up camp for the night.   The party set up their sleeping bags around a small fire and Kobo kept watch over the party during the night.   Late in the night Kobo sensed some movement headed toward the party and his alarm went off. The party immediately awoke and jumped into the defensive position. Ghesh began donning his armor, the rest of the party went to the edge of the treeline to see what was coming. Shambling through the field just below the small hill was a whole herd of skeletons!

  The Battle of Tree Hill  
  • Ghesh cast Sacred Weapon.
  • Moloch jumped from the trees and engaged the first skeleton. He used Flurry of Blows against Skeleton 1 dealing 8 damage.
  • Vex advanced out of the trees and toward the skeletons
  • The Skeletons attacked Moloch but missed.
  • Milo advanced out of the trees and cast Scorching Ray dealing 9 damage.
  • Dink moved to the edge of the treeline and fired his crossbow with a magical infusion dealing 11 damage.
  • At the top of the initiative 2 more Skeletons arrive on the battlefield.
  • Ghesh emerged from the trees holding up his holy relic and shouted out “Be gone in the name of Ava!” and many of the Skeletons turned and fled. Afterwards Ghesh yelled out to the group “Don’t attack the fleeing ones!”
  • Moloch attacked Archer Skeleton 1 with three quick strikes, hitting twice, killing Skeleton 1.
  • Vex moved near Moloch and attacked Archer Skeleton 2 dealing 5 damage.
  • The turned Skeletons continued to flee. One of the non-fleeing Skeletons attacked Moloch with its sword causing 3 damage. Another Skeleton attacked Vex dealing 4 damage.
  • Milo cast magic missile hitting a few of the Skeletons.
  • Dink fired his crossbow attacking Skeleton 9 dealing 10 damage.
  • At the top of the initiative 5 more Skeletons arrive.
  • Ghesh attacks Skeleton 9 hitting it with his sword dealing 18 damage and killing it.
  • Moloch attacked Skeleton 3, dealing 10 damage.
  • Vex attacked Skeleton 11 dealing it 5 damage.
  • One of the Skeletons attacked Ghesh, missing him. Another one attacked Vex with its bow dealing 7 damage.
  • Milo moved and cast True Strike.
  • Dink attacked Skeleton Archer 11 with his crossbow but missed.
  • At the top of the initiative 4 more Skeletons arrived on the battlefield.
  • Ghesh raised his Holy Symbol and yelled out “Be gone in the name of Ava!” and many more of the Skeletons turned and fled.
  • Moloch moved and used his jump ring to move to Skeleton Archer 11 and attack it for 11 damage.
  • Vex attacked Skeleton Archer 12 but missed.
  • The Skeletons attacked Moloch with their arrows but missed. Another Skeleton with a sword attacked Vex dealing 4 damage. Another Skeleton attacked Moloch with an arrow but missed.
  • Milo cast Witchbolt hitting Skeleton Archer 12 and dealing 5 damage.
  • Dink shot his crossbow at Skeleton Archer 11 dealing 9 damage killing it.
  • At the top of the initiative no more Skeletons entered the battlefield and the horde ended.
  • Ghesh attacked Skeleton Archer 12 with his sword dealing 10 damage killing it.
  • Moloch attacked Skeleton 19 dealing 8 damage.
  • Vex attacked Skeleton 19 dealing 3 damage.
  • Skeleton 19 attacked vex dealing him 8 damage.
  • Milo attacked Skeleton 19 but missed.
  • Dink attacked Skeleton 19, dealing the final damage to it, killing it.
  After the battle the party healed up and went back to sleep leaving Kobo to keep watch.
