Journal - Session 4 - The Heroes of Weatherdeep

General Summary

The 3rd of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, On the Road a Few Miles South of Weatherdeep
Following the battle with the elementals the storm began to slow down a little and the party was able to advance making their way to the Patch on the edge of Weatherdeep. As the party entered Weatherdeep they saw that the entire city was overrun by elementals. There were the bodies of civilians all over the streets. As soon as they entered the town the elementals took note of their presence and began to attack them.

The 1st Elemental Battle of Weatherdeep

• Ghesh uses Sacred Weapon
• Dink uses Repeating Shot
• Moloch advanced and attacked the nearest Air Elemental missed his target.
• The Water Elemental attacks Ghesh dealing 3 damage.
• The Air Elemental attacked Moloch but missed.
• Vex moved and attacked the Water Elemental but missed.
• Milo Moved and cast Magic Missile dealing 9 damage to the Air Elemental.
• Ghesh attacked the Water Elemental, dealing 5 damage.
• Dink attacked the Water Elemental with his crossbow dealing 6 damage.
• Moloch attacked the Air Elemental twice, missing once and dealing 5 damage.
• The Water Elemental used its ability whelm, but everyone in contact was able to withstand the attack yet everyone was damaged.
• The Air Elemental attacked Moloch, dealing 9 damage.
• Vex retreated back to the wagon.
• Milo cast Magic Missile dealing 9 damage to the Air Elemental.
• Ghesh drank a healing potion restoring 8 hit points. He also attacked the Water Elemental dealing 9 damage.
• Moloch continued to attack the Air Elemental twice, missing once but dealing 7 damage total.
• The Water Elemental attacked Ghesh twice but missed.
• The Air Elemental attacked Milo once dealing 6 damage, and attacked Moloch for 6 damage.
• Vex threw a dagger hitting the Water Elemental dealing 6 damage.
• Milo cast True Strike.
• Ghesh continued to attack the Water Elemental, dealing 13 damage to it, killing it.
• Dink turned and began to attack the Air Elemental with his crossbow but missed it.
• Moloch continued to attack the Air Elemental twice, missing both times.
• A civilian woman exited her home and was immediately noticed by the elementals.
• The Air Elemental moved to attack the woman.
• Vex moved to retrieve his thrown dagger.
• Milo moved and attacked the Air Elemental but missed.
• Ghesh turned and ran to catch up with the Air Elemental.
• Dink attacked the Air Elemental with his crossbow but missed.
• Moloch moved and attacked the Air Elemental twice, hitting both times, dealing 12 damage.
• The Air Elemental attacked the woman but missed and then attacked the charging Moloch dealing 3 damage.
• Vex dashed towards the Air Elemental.
• Milo attacked the Air Elemental but missed.
• Ghesh moved and attacked the Air Elemental, dealing 10 damage to it, killing it.

The party went to the woman and helped her. She had kids in the house with her and she was trying to draw the Elementals away from her family. The party offered to escort her and her family into town where there were guards and Stormwatch. The party then went along from house to house getting people to come with them so they could protect them. Along the way they met a couple of town guards: Viktor and Anton, who were helping to protect the civilians in their homes.

The entire party gathered all the people they could find and protected them while they escorted them to the city gates. At the city gates the party found the guards and Stormwatch were engaged in combat with many Elementals including a couple of Greater Elementals. One of the Greater Air Elementals took note of the party and began to attack!
The 2nd Elemental Battle of Weatherdeep

• Ghesh attacked the Greater Air Elemental with his sword dealing 8 damage.
• Moloch attacked the Greater Air Elemental with a dart hitting it dealing 2 damage.
• Dink attacked the Greater Air Elemental with his crossbow hitting it dealing 10 damage.
• Victor (guard 1) moved in and attacked the Greater Air Elemental, missing it.
• Anton (guard 2) tried to attack the Greater Air Elemental but missed and dropped his weapon.
• Milo dashed forwards toward the Greater Air Elemental.
• Vex moved and grabbed a crossbow from Dink.
• The Greater Air Elemental attacked Victor twice dealing him 10 damage.
• Ghesh attacked the Greater Air Elemental with his sword, dealing 12 damage.
• Moloch attacked the Greater Air Elemental with a dart but missed.
• Dink attacked the Greater Air Elemental with his crossbow but missed
• Viktor attacked the Greater Air Elemental but missed
• Anton picked up his weapon.
• Milo cast Witchbolt hitting, dealing 3 damage but since the Greater Air Elemental had resistance against lightning damage the damage was halved to 2 damage.
• Vex shot the crossbow hitting the Greater Air Elemental dealing 3 damage halved to 2 damage.
• The Greater Air Elemental continued to attack Viktor, dealing him 18 damage killing him.
• Ghesh attacked the Greater Air Elemental with his sword, dealing 12 damage.
• Moloch attacked the Greater Air Elemental twice, hitting once and dealing 5 damage halved to 3 damage.
• Dink attacked the Greater Air Elemental dealing 9 damage.
• Anton seeing his friend perish attacked the Greater Air Elemental dealing 10 damage halved to 5 damage.
• Milo continued to press his Witchbolt to the Greater Air Elemental dealing 12 damage halved to 6 damage.
• Vex attacked the Greater Air Elemental but missed.
• The Greater Air Elemental attacked Anton but missed and attacked Ghesh, dealing 12 damage.
• Ghesh drank a healing potion restoring some needed hit points.
• Moloch attacked the Greater Air Elemental twice, hitting both times dealing 9 damage halved to 5 damage.
• Dink attacked the Greater Air Elemental with his crossbow but missed.
• Anton attacked the Greater Air Elemental dealing 10 damage halved to 5 damage.
• Milo continued to press his Witchbolt to the Greater Air Elemental dealing 1 damage halved to 1 damage.
• Vex attacked the Greater Air Elemental dealing 6 damage halved to 3 damage.
• The Greater Air Elemental used his Whirlwind ability dealing 6 damage to everyone around him.
• Ghesh attacked the Greater Air Elemental for 7 damage, killing it.

The party helped escort the saved people into the city. The guard Anton told them that the Grand Artificer had set up a triage facility at his house. The party went to the Grand Artificers house and started to assist with the medical needs of the people. The Grand Artificer was busy with his medical constructs healing people. The party told Reginall that they had brought the Grand Artificer’s glowstone they had recaptured from the goblins. Reginall asked the party to park the wagon around back in the stables.
