General Summary
The 16th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, In the Grand Stormwatch Citadel
The party was walking the halls of the citadel and discussed what they found and what their next steps were. The party was discussing outside of Dink’s quarters when he came out. As they were talking the Herald and some Stormwatch came around the corner and asked Dink if he would help them with some mechanical troubles they were having. The party split into two groups.
Dink and Vex followed the Herald down into the workshops and forges and spoke with a Dwarven Smith named Therin who was tinkering with a strange black substance that was shipped in from Dhol Badur. They found out that it would burn when fire was applied to it. Moloch, Milo and Ghesh went to the Athenium looking for various things: Foe Stones, Pillars of Destiny, Soran, Eastreach etc.. They don’t find much else of use so they decide to look through the restricted section.
Meanwhile down in the workshop, Dink and Vex managed to take a tube and close one end of it and aiming at a reinforced wall they fired it causing a commotion. Dink used his Artificers magical infusions to light the fire powder. Gesh, Moloch and Milo in the Athenium found some more information about the Pillars of Destiny, most importantly a rough location. The explosion from the canon caused them to run downstairs to see what was going on down there.
Upon arriving in the workshop they found the many researchers and dwarves looking into the new weapon. After much discussion they found a way to light the fire powder from outside the tube. After testing the cannon again, Dink decided to try his Repeating Shot to infuse the new weapon and was successful
Being dinner time the party went to the mess hall and went to get some supper. The mess was served with roasted meat and potatoes. The group sat down and was eating and discussing. They talked about what they found about the Pillars of Destiny and their location and if they still had a Foe Stone there desecrating a Temple of Ava. They also spoke about logistics in travel. After they ate, Vex decided to retire for the evening and go back to his quarters. Moloch and Ghesh returned to the Athenium to do some more research but were unable to find too much. After some time they returned to their quarters as well and retired for the evening.
Ghesh went looking for Xalathas but was told that he was in the Garden beyond the Chapel. Ghesh went to the Garden and found Xalathas in prayer before the Statue of Ava. The statue was holding the great sword of Avalion said to be imbued with the power of Ava. The leader of the Stormwatch has charge of this sword. While Ghesh was waiting he decided to pray also and got so wrapped up in prayer that he didn’t notice when Xalathas arose from his worship. The two had a talk about provisions and Xalathas said he would have horses prepared for the party.
Dink became so wrapped up in his new project that he didn’t notice the time slip by as it was well past the second watch of the night. He realized how late it was and retired for the evening. The other artisans kept working.
The 17th of Serrum, 1390 of the Storm Era, In the Grand Stormwatch Citadel
The next morning as Moloch awoke to begin his normal training he noticed a lot of commotion going on about the Citadel. When he asked the soldiers running about what was going on they told him that the construct army was almost at the Citadel walls. They were much earlier than was thought they would be. Moloch woke up the rest of the group and they quickly got ready and went quickly to the stables and found the horses prepared and provisioned. The quartermaster Maerth turned the horses over to the party and warned Moloch about which path they should take. He said to ride along the coast and not the road, for a while and then turn south through the Grimwood and then back west and meet the road again. He said not to tarry in the Grimwood for long.
