Personal history

At the age of 11 both her parents were taken from her. While out flying they were brought down by a skilled marksmen of the Deto and then killed by the fighters below. The headmaster of the Glad wind then took her in out of respect for what her family had done for the scribes.
Naturally she became a scribe then. The Glade Wind took her in himself and trained her. She excelled at calligraphy, illumination and attention to detail. So much so that at the age of 26 she was given the task of transcribing the book of the world, a massive series of volumes containing every scrap of knowledge they had gathered in chronological order.
She barely had a chance to start however. As soon after it began an unexpected storm grabbed her and pulled her far south and into the sea. She washed up in the swampwood with a broken with and slowly made her way inland. Near Middlemarch she accidentally came upon a group (later revealed to be part of the sanctified.) who attacked her and shot her with a new weapon. The result fractured her recovering wing into the wrong shape rendering her flightless permanently.
For a while she avoided all others then but eventually due to some close calls with wild beasts she joined with a caravan doing what she could to help in exchange for their protection, all the while hiding her wings.
She began then to travel going to all the cities she knew that Haku, her love was assigned to in the hopes that he would happen to find her. After Glandoria however she ended up with a group heading to Broostwater for a meeting. Finding these people safe and trustworthy she stayed with them and ended up working as a navigator for a privateer ship, and a minstrel while in town, making even more friends.
Pierre then came into the picture then as a stowaway, pickpocket. After hearing his tale Abiru’s heart broke for him and she promised to take care of him so whoever the crime boss of the Patriarch didn’t have to. At the second meeting at Broostwater she saw Haku among the delegates. And later was able to meet him again. He promptly proposed.
