"The Traitor Martyrs" | Guiscard, Arnol, Donindort, Squire, Jade, Kashi, Professor, Sanctified, Martyrs

The Slave Village of Three Corners, High Afternoon of Day after Game 3

Roleplayed by Yankee Samarai, Violet of Sherwood, little song, Dark Matter, and Squirewalker
Yankee Samarai08/14/2019   A knight from the Order of the Martyrs has just arrived with our heroes. His name is Arnol, and he has approached in a sense of urgency, so much so that he seems to ignore the rest of the group, even when Guiscard attempts to introduce them.   Arnol looks with slight contempt at the group before taking Guiscard by the shoulder and pulling him aside.   "What have you been doing all this time?"   Guilt takes Guiscard. "I am sorry Arnol, but I have not been near post services for some time, it is just the nature of the mission I've had."   Arnol: "You've had!?"   "What do you think we've been doing?"   Guiscard: "I'm sorry Arnol. But-"   Arnol: "But what?"   Guiscard: "Despite my mistake I am glad you came. There is much to tell."   Arnol: "I should hope something that can help us." His voice carries an ominous tone.   Guiscard catches it, and looks his friend in the eye.   Arnol: "Guiscard...de Valiate is up to something."
Dark Matter08/14/2019   Glances over to where Guiscard is talking with Arnol.
YankeeSamarai   Guiscard: Looks more intensely. "Tell me..."   Arnol: "Not here..." Looking at [Jade] when he moves into position. "We should speak in private Guiscard."
Squirewalker08/14/2019   Squire looks at her master wanting to come along.   Looks a little nervous hearing the ominious tone.
Yankee Samarai08/14/2019   Guiscard: "Remain here." Leans in to whisper. "Make sure Kashi doesn't walk too much, that Beakerson doesn't do anything stupid, and that the rest of the group doesn't get into trouble."
Squirewalker08/14/2019   Looks confused a moment, but then nods.
Yankee Samarai08/14/2019   Gestures to Arnol, and they find a private place next at an inn
Squirewalker08/14/2019   Squire watches them go still not able to hide her worry.
Yankee Samarai08/14/2019   The two knights begin an earnest conversation.   Arnol: "I know neither of us are any friend of the Grand Master, so let me begin by saying he should be cast aside, left like a dog for all I care."   Guiscard: "Tell me everything."   Arnol: "You will not believe it. Navis Roche is empty!"   Guiscard: "Empty?"   Arnol: "Valiate will not admit it, but a third of it's garrison has disappeared, along with some of it's cannon, powder, and arms. Valiate denies he had anything to do with it, and is demanding the thieves be brought in."   Guiscard: "What in Elyon's good earth is a third of the garrison gone for?"   Arnol: "Not just in Navis Roche, local Masters in Vachelous, Draldon, and Tir Cendel have began to notice that much of their inventories have been somehow smuggled out."   Guiscard: "This is not a robbery?"   Arnol: "Valiate is up to something, he is the only one who could authorize that many men and resources to be allocated."   Guiscard: "But where? And why?"   Arnol: Voice raises. "And then you had the gall to disappear on us!!!"   Guiscard: Takes his shoulder. "Calm down, calm down."   Arnol: "I want to know what happened to you?"   Guiscard: Takes a breath. "I did not trust the Grand Master enough with what I discovered. Things are different for me now, Arnol. I see things in a way you may no longer understand."   Arnol: Crosses his arms. "Try me!"   Guiscard: Looks at the ground a moment. "...Where to begin?"   Arnol: "How about you start with that blasphemer!" Pointing, loudly to Donindor.   Donindor: Smiles. To the group, "I think he said he likes my beard!"
Dark Matter08/14/2019   To Donindor, "I...don't. think so."
Yankee Samarai08/14/2019   Donindor: "Of course he did. His isn't grown much past his face so he is obviously jealous, then again I've had centuries to work on this thing."   Guiscard: "He is not a blasphemer! Oh Arnol, if only you were there. I fought against Pale! They nearly took me...but then-"   Arnol: "Pale?" Rubs his forehead. "So it's all true. We thought your letter was crazy talk."   Guiscard: "But then...I was saved."   Arnol: "Saved? You?"   Guiscard: Nods. "Pale is stronger than we have ever trained for. If not for"--swallows--"if not for the one, there-- Subtle gesture.   Arnol: Swings his eyes. "The Kokkan in red? Careful Guiscard, you know they do not share our beliefs. In fact I don't see a single person in this company that would."   Guiscard: Sigh.   Arnol: Eyes come back to Guiscard. "Don't think about them. Think about your brothers. We need you to get back on our side."   Guiscard: "I am on your side, always will be."   Arnol: "Then tell me what is going on."   Guiscard briefly describes his adventures.
little song08/14/2019   K: Cocks her head.
Yankee Samarai08/14/2019   As he describes the recent skirmish between Jade, Kashi, and the brigands in the woods, deep worry comes over Arnol's eyes.   Arnol: "That is how they described it to you? They fought like knights?"   Guiscard: The same concern enters his mind. "They can't be? I refuse!"   Arnol: "Twice encountered, similar arms, similar tactics."   Guiscard: "But why would? What on earth has gotten into Valiate's mind?"   Arnol: "There is no definite proof, but their story matches the many I've encountered while searching for you. Even my informant had at least two run ins with groups he described in a similar manner. The second time was when he was with the Kokkan and the Mantis."   Guiscard: "But the only other male with them was Beakerson?"   Arnol: "No not him."   Guiscard: "...Ohhhh noooo!" Buries face. "You hired that professor to spy on me!"   Arnol: "He was traveling, he seemed lost, so I employed him. He is how I knew to find you here."   "But never mind him, let's stay on business...what are you going to tell your...company of friends?"   Guiscard: "Without proof, I do not know."   Arnol: "You must tell them whoever this enemy is, they must prepare for a real fight...not Bloodhammer, not bandits, REAL opponents."   "Most of them probably won't last in a fight. Not with our level of training. Your mission is under grave threat, especially with what you said about this...Atthru."   Guiscard: "What are the brothers prepared to do?"   Arnol: "We are waiting. As soon as Valiate makes a mistake, we are taking him out."
