"Preparing for A New Enemy" | Guiscard, Arnol, Kashi, Sukoshi, Jade, Donindor, Squire
[After their ordeal at the tavern, Guiscard’s friend, Arnol, prepares to make leave. The two exchange parting words, referencing their first urgent conversation, as they make their way through the camp.]
Yankee Samarai08/14/2019 Guiscard: "And what of these...traitors? They are moving, so should you." Arnol: "I've sent word to loyal brothers, but if we act too soon Valiate will be a victim, and other kingdoms will see us a threat, we need patience right...but I didn't come all this way just to bring ill news." Arnol steps out of the alley. "Come with me.” They walk across the street to Arnol's horse. Guiscard eyes the Professor, who is examining a wild flower. [Still digesting the news that this man was sent to spy on him.] Donindor: "Everything well, gentlemen...? My, it's good to meet another knight--" Extends hand. Arnol pushes past him.

Yankee Samarai08/14/2019 Guiscard: Points at her. "Off your foot, Kashi." Then turns back to Arnol.

Yankee Samarai08/14/2019 Arnol: Retrieves a large sack from the saddle. "You might need more than that sword and mail if things are this bad." Guiscard steps to the side, somewhere inconspicuous. Opens the sack. From it he retrieves a shiny chainmail shirt. Then finds a box. Sets it on his lap and opens it. Inside is a flintlock pistol. "Oh Arnol." The men exchange an embrace. Arnol: "I don't approve of you continuing with these people." Guiscard: "Don't worry about me, this time I'll be on call if you need me, but there are forces that must be stopped. Safe to assume our paths will cross." Arnol: "Most certainly." Arnol mounts his horse and takes off. Guiscard packs the pistol onto his belt, bags the mail shirt. Donindor: "So...your friend?" Guiscard: "Oui! Oui!" “Excuse me a moment.” Ducks into a building, and emerges a few moments later with the mithril shirt. Squire: Eyes bursting with happiness. Signs, It's just like the one I got for you! Guiscard: "The one you got for me?" Squire: Yeah! The one I lost.

Yankee Samarai08/14/2019 Shoots a look at Jade. After a pause. "Hahahaa!" Then recomposes himself. "There is something you should all hear."

Yankee Samarai08/14/2019 Explains to them his theory that the men who wounded Kashi are part of a larger group, whom they encountered once before, but whose objective is unknown, and their disturbing potential connection with the Order of the Martyrs. "In short..." "Our mission is more dangerous than it was before...these are not pirates that are easily frightened, as you've encountered. If they are knights, avoiding contact must be top priority, for I doubt they will give outsiders such as yourselves much mercy."

Shadow Knights?--We are their target somehow, and they've already tried to kill you Kashi, twice, not to lessen the fact they tried to kill you too Jade, but if they--" Guiscard: "If you- or anyone rides out of here alone, you are at risk of being exposed."

"Someone's going to need to be the bait, we lure them into some sort of trap and then attack. Problem is..." Glances around, scanning the trees. "We can't have too detailed of a plan because we have no idea when they're listening."

I doubt they are around at the moment, but we cannot attack, they clearly can avoid being seen." Donindor: "So it would be a waste of time, we must push on to our own objective." Guiscard: "The box is priority, for now, until we have a solid plan of retaliation, no one is aloud to leave camp."

little song08/14/2019 Late that night Sukoshi returns. Kashi, though trying to sleep, can’t, and was listening for him. Sits up. She greats him in Kokkan. And he returns, softly coming next to her. They talk for a bit, the tones taking on a harsh air for a moment and then he nods and they both relax. He says more and hands her a blue strip of fabric. And she listens as he explains something. Silence and she asks... He shrugs. And speaks again and gestures to the knight and then the mantis kind. She smiles and nods. He returned the smiles. And the takes a black stoned pendant from inside his shirt. And off his neck. And puts it on her explaining. She gives him a look exchanging a few more words and her responses. And a few more words and they both begin to bed down for the night.
