"Find a Way Back" | Guiscard, Sukoshi, Milo, Maki, Ananias
[Sukoshi has already left Adventurer's Outpost. Is just sitting against a tree with his eyes closed.]
Yankee Samarai 10:28 PM The Gates creak open, and the party marches out Sukoshi is guarded by two horsemen, watching him until the threat was eliminated The rain still falls Guard-1: “Reginald, that is them.” Reginald: “Sire really set them free?” Guard-1: “Orders...come on.” They ride away, into the fortress and it is closed. Guiscard lifts his melancholy gaze to appreciate the achievement done here today. Baldwin walks to the top of the gatehouse, and looks down upon the party.

Sgt.SoftFace15 10:37 PM [Mr. Burrows] Stands close to Guiscard.
Yankee Samarai 10:39 PM [Guiscard] “Considering the outcome of this...misadventure. I rescind my earlier outburst. Very brave each of you...stupid,” Holds back a moment. “But brave.”

Yankee Samarai 10:50 PM Horsemen, 10 of them. Halt in front of the group. One speaks, presumably the Captain: “His Highness takes note of your sizeable fellowship.”

Yankee Samarai 10:52 PM Guiscard: “Is it more than he has for himself?”
Commando Chipmunk 10:52 PM Sees the papers and dagger she stuffed in her bag. Makes small face of approval at Guiscard's snark.
Yankee Samarai 10:54 PM Captain Dismounts, removes his helmet. Approaches on foot. “He says he would prefer you out of his sight the sooner the better.” Passes Guiscard the reigns of the horse.
little song 10:55 PM Starts walking away.
Yankee Samarai 10:57 PM Knight-1 at Burrows. “Guess you’re riding.” Guiscard takes reigns. The others dismount.

Sgt.SoftFace15 10:59 PM “I can ride on a horse. It wouldn’t be my first time...” to the knight. “Who will I be riding with?”
Yankee Samarai 10:59 PM Knight-1: “I don't care.” The other knights bring their horses to the group. Guiscard notices that Sukoshi and Ananias are wandering away. Captain: “For these horses, there is a slight exchange the Master wants.” Guiscard turns his ear back.
Sgt.SoftFace15 11:01 PM Wanders over to one of the horses and looks up to it. It was big, but every horse was big to him. He hears about an exchange and looks back as well.
Commando Chipmunk 11:02 PM Maki looks back at Ananias. Starts following quickly.

Commando Chipmunk 11:06 PM Maki grins at Ananias, "It wouldn'ta happened if it hadn't been for you, ya know right? You're staying right?" Hears Guiscard, pauses. Looks over shoulder. "Um--we gotta go..."

Sgt.SoftFace15 11:07 PM Milo attempts to climb onto the horse. After one or two failed attempts he finally manages to scramble on its back.

Yankee Samarai 11:08 PM “You can do that on a steed Misseur.” Passes him reigns. Knights watch, suspect of Tovian. Guiscard calls, “Sukoshi!” “Maki!”
Commando Chipmunk 11:11 PM Maki calls back to Guiscard, "Yeah, we're going back for the others, right?"
Yankee Samarai 11:11 PM “Others? Well why not? Mount up...please.”
little song 11:11 PM Still walking but silently bobs head. Not looking behind. Shakes head.
Sgt.SoftFace15 11:12 PM Meanwhile, Milo is trying to reach around the horse’s neck to grab the reigns..... he can’t reach them..
Commando Chipmunk 11:12 PM Maki frowns at horses a little, but scrambles up behind Burrows.

Sgt.SoftFace15 11:13 PM He looks down “But I’ve only ridden ponies, so I’m still getting used to it.” Milo folds his arms, before reaching forward enough to almost hang from the horse’s neck and grabs the reigns.
ThatGuyOverThere 11:15 PM Ananias grabs the reigns offered to him and hops on. "There's nothing to it Mr. Burrows. Just don't fall off."
Commando Chipmunk 11:15 PM Maki: Just holding onto whoever is in front of her. O-O Also glances at Sukoshi's behavior. Frowns.
Yankee Samarai 11:15 PM Guiscard: Curious but thinks he understands, calls again. “Sukoshi!” Leaves the organization of horses to Dronin and pursues him.

Yankee Samarai 11:16 PM [Burrow’s] Horse rears at the uncomfortable weight hanging on its face. Captain: Facepalm.
Sgt.SoftFace15 11:16 PM Burrows falls to the ground but still holds onto the reigns. He scrambles to his feet and up the horse again.
Yankee Samarai 11:17 PM “I understand you feel the need to walk your own way. But how will you get home on foot? Be reasonable. It is better if you’re part of us.”
Commando Chipmunk 11:18 PM Maki: <:D "Heh, I think it's my fault--I'm getting things off balance--" Jumps off quickly and scrambles over to Ananias' horse instead.

Sgt.SoftFace15 11:18 PM Milo sits on the horse alone, a bit muddy, but with the reigns still in hand. “Well, I can ride! Don’t worry about me Ananias.”
Yankee Samarai 11:19 PM Squire jumps up with Burrows. Her eyes are smiling as always. It's easy! they say. Baldwin enters his office. Men are still sorting through the damage.

Commando Chipmunk 11:22 PM Maki hisses Ananias. "Don't worry, I'm okay at this so long I'm not riding alone and the other person doesn't fall off."
Grabs onto the back of his monk robe. "Um--what's up with Sukoshi though?
"Did he say anything to you?
"I mean...we saved his life."
Yankee Samarai 11:23 PM Captain: "Can we move it along?" One Knight taps his rifle. Tovian gives him a dangerous look.

ThatGuyOverThere 11:27 PM To Maki: "I'm not sure." Looks over Sukoshi a bit worried.
Commando Chipmunk 11:30 PM Maki about to shout out something to get Sukoshi's attention when she sees reaction. Winces and goes quiet.
Sgt.SoftFace15 11:31 PM Finally manages to get control of the horse, and steers it out next to Ananias and Maki. “See Ananias? I told you I could ride a horse.”

Commando Chipmunk 11:35 PM Maki begins to feel sleep take her. Stares at Sukoshi walking as her eyes begin to close. Conk, she's gone.

Sgt.SoftFace15 11:37 PM Milo silently is glad that Maki wasn’t on his horse when she fell asleep or she would have taken both of them off of the horse.

Yankee Samarai 11:44 PM Captain: Gives him a look. "Well then...gestures to the woods to say get out." Guiscard: Sukoshi's short sentences don't reveal much. "So where are you heading now? What is in that direction?" Baldwin: Receives stack of unsorted telegrams from a guard, he begins sorting through them at his desk.
little song 11:46 PM "Would you just start Ananias and I’ll follow." Still walking.

Yankee Samarai 11:49 PM Goes back to the group. "Alright everyone... Lets ride."

Yankee Samarai 11:49 PM "Let's get out of Middlemarch. You--" Turns to Ananias. "You said there were others...where are they?"

Yankee Samarai 11:52 PM [Baldwon] Checks the room, and demands if the guards had collected everything and searched the Blue Cloaks.
Sgt.SoftFace15 11:53 PM Turns his horse around and begins to follow after Ananias. Starting to get used to the horse.
Yankee Samarai 11:54 PM Knight: "Good luck halfling"
Sgt.SoftFace15 11:55 PM He waves behind him, “Thank you sir knight. I don’t think I will need it though.”

Yankee Samarai 11:57 PM [After the group is away from the fort] Baldwin shuffles through his papers more frantically. Checks the room, and demands if the guards had collected everything and searched the Blue Cloaks. Slunks in his chair, stressed. Then his eyes move to the edge of his desk, the dagger is not there. His family dagger. It is also disappeared. "So my brother's company proves itself." Steps out of the chair and calls for a posse to be sent out.
ThatGuyOverThere 11:58 PM Ananias looks back to make sure Maki isn't slipping off when his eye catches sight of something in her bag. It looked like papers he hadn't recalled her having before. And a lot of them.
