To My Friend and Comrade, Mackey - I hoped to be back with the group by this time, but something has come up. One of the deer (her name is Sassafrass) has fallen ill and her children talked me into staying and helping until she is well. It's nice to be of service to someone, but I do hope she gets well soon. Deer never go anywhere or talk about anything other than which plants taste best. Wonderful people, otherwise. Farewell until Further Notice, Araunah.
Maki: *scribbling letter fiercely* Fellow Elf-Friend Araunah, I just got your letter. Kind of by accident actually. Most of the mail systems have been confiscated. I really hope you get this. The trees said they would pass the word along if it didn't make it through. The short reply is--don't come. Whatever you do, DON'T come. Not because we couldn't use you or anything right now, but Middlemarch has fallen to a twisted, messed up group of the Order of the Martyrs calling themselves the Sanctified Knights. They are everywhere and they are killing anyone that isn't human. They actually put me in a firing squad and shot me, but I teleport healed back. They still have some of our group as prisoners. Others have already been killed. There are air ships showing up now. It's going to be all out war soon. So, please keep taking care of Sassafras. It's important that as many people...and animals... live as possible. As soon as I've rescued Guiscard, our leader, I'm going to leave Middlemarch, return to Kelindor, and try to warn the kingdoms about something worse. Maybe I can meet you on the way there. ~Maki
