Tankardtown is a bustling and jovial land that seems to be free of crime or fear. The reason for the capital’s name is due to the fact that there are bars, clubs, and multitudes of other sites for adult relaxation. Each of these places gains their stock not from outside, but rather from the leadership of the city. Supposedly there is an artifact named the Nexus Still which can brew any form of alcohol across the wide variety there is. Most everyone there doesn’t question but rather rejoices amongst each other that their city has access to this good in droves.
Culture and Values
The kingdom itself is a place for those with the love of drink, love of lust, and love of debauchery in general. Most people who settle here are adventurers who like to celebrate their wins or those who wish to wash down their sorrows with plentiful pastimes. Their favorite holiday is one of their own creation. The holiday is aptly named ‘The Great Tolerance Break’. As can be guessed by its name, the holiday is one that lasts an entire month and leaves its occupants sobering and preparing for the final day of celebration for their renewed intolerance to whatever their preferred debauchery is. Not everyone celebrates, but it is widely participated in by the citizens of this fair city.
Geography, Flora, and Fauna
Tankardtown boasts a unique location on the continent that affords it a very interesting landscape. With its position not far from the foothills of the Yeselde Range and its north face leading out to the plains, its cool climate lends itself to all the plant and animal life that like the generally gentle disposition of the environment. Many grazing animals can be found on the edges of the city, tall grasses and flowers surround houses and establishments, and there is always a place to find good shade.
Political Structure and Economics
The town’s current Mayor… leader… whatever may have you, is Kala Drakbal. She’s not your typical government official and definitely dislikes being seen as such. She could drink most people under the table and still win a fight afterward. She is the one key person who works the Nexus Still and knows it’s true location. She is also a former member of the Council of IX, but retired in recent years to focus on her city as well as to enjoy a few more years of adventuring. That being said she is also one of the few Council members in recent history who has been able to retire in such peaceful grace, a hopeful thing for her peers still in their positions and those that may come after.
