Emryn, Goddess of Protection and Pain

Emryn was not always a goddess, in fact, she started out as just a half-elf daughter of a family line of guardians to a small province on a continent far from Ashirma itself. But fate had other plans...   The tale is much too long to try and encompass here, but it comes down to this:
When she failed to uphold a deal she was unaware of that was attached to her family line and the god Helm, he came down to punish her and asked Lovitar as the goddess of pain to exact the punishment for Emryn’s failure to protect her people and her home under the devastating hand of a warlord with forces beyond their small province.   After a long few years in great pain and lacking her memory, Ryn would come to discover her history through help from her companions at the time. In the end, after a trip to the hells and a battle between her soul and the two gods themselves, Emryn made her choice and killed those who punished her so cruelly. In this by accident the betrayed woman took on their power and herself became a god where otherwise she would simply have perished   Never before had this been done, and the consequences she had to face were many and harsh as she underwent her change from a mortal being to a divine one. With time and care, she came to a more comfortable rule over her two divine aspects and now exists as the goddess of both protection and pain of which she has strived to balance. Many people are unaware of the fall of Helm and Lovitar in the mortal realm though, and that is why you will find no temples to her as she pretends to be them both for their followers (though she does not often indulge the sadism of Lovitar’s more evil practitioners).   One notable follower of Ryn is Conor Gloomhand of Fate’s Hand, the party that changed the course of the entire council of nine 10,000 years ago (see initially mentioned campaign on page one). But her followers still are few and far between so it is hard to ever find them.   Unlike most other gods, Emryn enjoys being a little more involved even if at a slight distance. She understands the pure presence of a deity isn't taken well, but will appear in visions and often converse through prayers.
