You attempt to suppress the magic of one magic item you can see within range that isn’t an Artifact. A suppressed magic item becomes a mundane version of itself for the duration.

A Common or Uncommon item is suppressed automatically. For Rare and rarer magic items, you must make an ability check with your spellcasting modifier against a DC dependent on its rarity, shown on the table below.

 Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot: You automatically suppress magic items of greater rarity. Rare at level 3, Very Rare at level 4, and Legendary at level 5+.
