Specialist Template
Tool Proficiency
When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with X Tools. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice.
Each artificer is almost based around one set of tools, or it has a set of tools based off the "Gadget" the subclass is focused on
Extra Spells
Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class,
The items on this table should reflect the overall "playstyle" of the subclass or even tweak their magic a little bit
Create Gadget
Beginning at 3rd level, whenever you finish a long rest, you can magically produce a gadget
Creating the gadget requires you to have X supplies on your person, and only one gadget can exist at once.
Your gadgets progress as you level up
The gadget reflects a central idea or invention that the subclass tinkers with. It can be the whole item they modify, or something that gives them a few options. The goal is to have a gadget that has multiple "modes/forms" which can be switched on a long rest.
Compliment Gadget
Starting at 5th level, you get an additional option, which doesnt affect your main gadget, but buffs the subclasses' playstyle or covers a gap in power of the main gadget
or extra attack
Better Gadgets
At 9th level, You gain a better form of your gadget, and it gains either a buff to its use, or a new "feature"
Additionally you may use a bonus action to expend a flash of genius to convert which "mode" your gadget is in
Gadget Mastery
By 15th level, you get features to buff your gadget, or its creation, as well as buffs to round out your character.
