Mold Earth

Spell Lists: Druid, Sorcerer, Wizard
Transmutation Cantrip
Casting Time: 1 Action
Range: 25 feet
Components: S
Duration: Instantaneous, or 1 hour

You gesture to a portion of metal, wood, stone, crystal that you can see within range and that fits within a 5-foot cube. You manipulate it in one of the following ways:
- If you target an area of loose earth, you can instantaneously excavate it, move it along the ground, and deposit it up to 5 feet away. This movement doesn’t have enough force to cause damage.
- You cause shapes, colors, or both to appear on the dirt or stone, spelling out words, creating images, or shaping patterns. The changes last for 1 hour.
- If the dirt or stone you target is on the ground, you cause it to become difficult terrain. Alternatively, you can cause the ground to become normal terrain if it is already difficult terrain. This change lasts for 1 hour.
- The material quickly warps, creating a column that protrudes outward. The column is 5ft long and 1 ft in diameter, and you can choose to have it strike a target within 5ft of where it forms. If you do so, make a ranged spell attack, dealing 1d8 bludgeoning damage on hit. When you cast this spell, you can choose to hold concentration on it, causing the column to remain after forming. The column has an AC of 10. and can support up to 500 lbs of weight. If the column takes any damage, you do not make an attack with it, or you forgo concentration on the spell, it immediately crumbles away.

If you cast this spell multiple times, you can have no more than two of its non-instantaneous effects active at a time, and you can dismiss such an effect as an action.

At higher levels: The number of these "effects" you conjure with a casting of this spell increases to 2 at 5th level, 3 at 11th level, and 4 at 17th level. This increases the number of "non-instantaneous" effects you may have active as well, you may use the same option multiple times with a single cast, but every option must select a different "5-foot cube".
