You unleash a wild bolt of static at a target within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 lightning damage, and you can cause a secondary bolt to spring from the target to a different creature of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of it. THe second creature takes 1d4 lightning damage.

At Higher Levels Beginning at 5th level the spell deals an extra 1d6 lightning damage to the initial target on hit, and the damage to the second creature increases by 1d4 (2d6) and (2d4) total. Both damage rolls increase by the same amount at 11th level (3d6) and (3d4), and again at 17th level (4d6) and (4d4) respectively.
