This ring may shift its physical form into any type of jewelry — necklace, earring, chain, bracelet, anklet, piercing — but never anything non-jewelry. It may grow, shrink, twist, or alter materials and textures. However:

• A vibrant orange sapphire must remain visible in some way.
• This sapphire represents the unchangeable truth of Vin — his orange changeling eyes, a part of himself even his disguises cannot mask.
• This transformation requires no action and may occur reflexively or by Vin’s will.

His eyes glow when the ring morphs.

Legacy of the Healing Flame

Gentle Conduit – Restorative Pulse (Permanent Feature)

The ring passively radiates a calm magical resonance that enhances healing magic or stabilizing effects cast by the wearer:

• When Vin casts a spell, ability, or uses a feature that heals, stabilizes, or revives a creature, that creature gains temporary hit points equal to Vin’s Wisdom modifier (minimum 1).
• This does not stack if applied multiple times, but always grants the benefit once per creature per rest.
• If Vin stabilizes a dying creature without magic (Medicine check or other means), the ring subtly amplifies his touch, automatically bringing the creature to 1 HP instead of 0.

This represents the gentle, persistent spirit of his family — healers and teachers — echoing through his very touch.

Memories of his family come to mind when this feature activates.

Spirit in Motion (Monk Path)

Still Step, Shifting Soul (Permanent Feature)

This feature embodies the internal harmony Vin pursues through his monk path — movement without wasted motion, and silence without stagnation.

• Grace in Flow: The ring grants Vin a passive +5 movement speed as long as he is unarmored and not encumbered, reflecting his refined discipline and trained body.
• Recentered Mind: Once per short rest, Vin may immediately end one condition affecting him (such as Charmed, Frightened, or Stunned) as a bonus action, representing his ability to recenter through practiced meditation and breath control.
• Echo Step: If Vin moves at least 20 feet and ends his turn without attacking, he gains +1 AC until the start of his next turn. This AC bonus is lost if he takes damage or makes an attack. It symbolizes the fleeting edge of uncommitted action — where movement itself becomes defense.

Developing Features:

Whisper of the Grave (Fear of Death)

“You only fear what you do not understand.”

This feature reflects Vin’s obsession with death — a curiosity born from fear, not reverence. The ring listens quietly, collecting fragments of undeath and afterlife lore, guiding its bearer not away from death, but toward it — safely.

• Once per long rest, Vin can reroll a failed Wisdom saving throw against fear, possession, or mental control (like those from ghosts or undead).
• Additionally, he gains a +2 bonus on Religion checks made to identify or understand undead, necrotic spells, or funerary rites.

These powers are not yet fully stable. Sometimes the ring pulses coldly when near a corpse, or whispers inaudibly when death is imminent.
