Thalgryna Hearthveil

Kahn Thalgryna Hearthveil (a.k.a. The First Kahn, The Matron Who Forged the Nation, Silent Anvil)

“I laid down my hammer to forge something colder than steel — law.”

Biography:

Thalgryna Hearthveil was the most revered smith of her age — until the Cold War era forced her into something far greater. Unwilling to let dwarven clans be divided or destroyed by the rise of human empires, she set aside her craft to lead the movement that would become the nation of Voltaris.

She brokered the first pact with Oralthis personally and reluctantly accepted the role of Kahn, serving one term. When it ended, she returned to her forge without ceremony and refused further political office.

Legacy:

  • Her anvil remains sealed within the Deepheart Crucible, untouched since her final work
  • The founding charter of Voltaris, signed by her hand and hammer, is displayed in the Hall of Silent Bronze
  • Stories say she still walks the lower forges, cloaked and silent, watching how her people carry on

Personality:

  • Stoic, duty-bound, and deeply loyal to dwarven tradition
  • Believed sacrifice should be silent and leadership should be earned by labor
  • Treasured privacy, and only raised her voice to protect others

Notable Traits:

  • Was known to temper blades with her own tears during the war
  • Refused a ceremonial tomb or legacy title — requested to be forgotten once her work was done
  • Her name is spoken only in forges or silence, never in politics
