Origin of the Land of Song
Before there existed the Land of Song, there existed the Songs. The Songs of Life, Death, Time, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Metal, Soul, and Travel. To create the world of the Soul Singers, the First Song Miana was created. She wove the tapestry of time into a pattern that could allow for the other Songs to be sung and to enact their changes upon the world. With time in motion, the First Song's of Life, Jalaa, and Death, Naku, sung a song of creation and death, repeating itself ceaselessly as misshapen matter was made and returned to dust. When enough of that matter had been given form, the First Songs of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind were born to shape and grow it into a land that could accept both the gift's of Jalaa and serve as a fine offering to Naku. The world having been shaped, Jalaa gave life to the songs the others wove, birthing the first creatures of the land.
The creatures would need a sheperd to guide them, someone to sing them a song as they were born and laid down for the last time. Thus the First Song of Soul, Cria, breathed life into the earth and created the Soul Singers. Their task was to live life as they saw fit and to guide the other creatures to living in harmony with themselves and the other songs.
Life is inevitably riddled with trial, and there would come a time when the Soul Singers would be threatened. To protect their charges in these times, the First Songs of Metal and travel were given life. With metal came a way to stand against the dangers that could harm them, and with travel the urge to scatter to the widns and outrun any threat.
