Ingmundr Conung
In the sixth year of the reign of Máel Sechlainn, the foreigner Ingmundr Conung came to Ireland and the lords of Ireland submitted to him, and he took tribute from the Irish - the Annals of Ulster
In 853 AD, at the head of a savage force of men and bauchan, Ingmundr carved out a kingdom from the corpses of
Irish lords.
In 866 a number of
Norse longforts along the northern coast were destroyed by Áed Findliath, overking of the Northern Uí Néill.
As viking power in Éire teetered on the verge of collapse, Ingmundr sailed away with his host in search of new lands to settle...or burn.
