Evernight
Demographics
The city of Evernight is exclusively populated by the Shadar Kai.
Government
The ultimate leader of the Shadar-Kai is the fragmented remains of the Raven Queen. The decisions are made by an elder council, including the dealings with other planes and struggles within the Shadowfell itself. Beneath them are a series of generals who are skilled warriors, and each lead a patrol of warriors who attempt to regain control over the surrounding regions of the Shadowfell.
Industry & Trade
Evernight is entirely self-sufficient. Their few interactions with other planes were limited to explorations for items to restore the Raven Queen, during which they preferred to avoid contact with any other mortals. A similar situation is present within the Shadowfell itself, as the majority of other inhabitants are far from hospitable, and what few mortal settlements do exist are either very undeveloped or under Silverblood control.
History
Evernight was founded shortly after the Shadar-Kai were banished from the Feywild. They quickly adapted to their new life and began to build defences against the abhorrent creatures lurking in the shadows. These continued to grow into the city as it stands today. The city has always been a powerhouse in the Feywild, remaining in Shadar-Kai control since it was founded. This control has come under threat in recent years. The few mortal settlements that do exist have gradually been taken over by the Silverbloods and some worry that they may begin to encroach further upon Evernight.
Architecture
The city of Evernight is very different from its glowing reflection of Empala on the material plane. It has a gothic architecture not dissimilar to that of the drow, however the focus is evidently less arachnid. The buildings carry more focus on practicality than other elven structures, and so are fairly tightly packed together and carry less decorative detail.
Geography
The City of Evernight is constructed atop the largest peak in Shadowfell. This provides a definite tactical advantage as it gives a great view over the valley below.
