A Core looks like the cosmic rot left behind after magic touches a surface. However the core is more of a small cage shape.

Origin & Source

A living magic core has its origin in the the void of space which can be reached by opening portal to the realm trough magic. With recent technological advancements the magically gifted have been able to create living magical cores in Artoria.

History & Usage

Everyday use

The cores are well known for its use in powering machinery with . This is because the cores are able to hold the living magic inside of it whilst the magic powers what the core is connected to.
Most machinery only use one core to power it. However mechs use a more complex method of being powered due to all the moving parts needed. because of this mechs have a main core containing magic, and smaller underdeveloped cores connecting their joints to the main core. This makes them able to move more smoothly.

Cultural Significance and Usage

The use of cores to power machinery made industry skyrocket as it made production much faster. With the invention of worker mechs the factories could run night and day without brakes and with less accidents.

Byproducts & Sideproducts

The materials that makes the cores is a living thing. Therefore it wants to expand and reproduce. Because of this it will overtime grow over where it is supposed to be and get in the way of important parts. Therefore it is usual machine maintenance to trim off the growing parts of the core.
The cut off parts will dissolve very quickly as it is not accustomed to the worlds atmosphere.

Hazards

It is known within the business that touching a living magic core for long periods of time to cause a rash and or hallucinations.

Law & Regulation

Living magic cores are only legal to use in Estril, Lenor and Faldor. (to some extent). This is because many still se the use of magic as and especially living magic as going against nature itself.
