The First Covenant

After the Gods created the Humans, this sacred document was manifested into existence. As long as its holy texts remained intact, the race of men would lack free will and slave away on their labours for the Gods. The nature of its creation remained a mystery, however, as none of the Gods had willed it to be so. Nevertheless, they kept it secure in Odar's vault in Borugham Citadel. Time went by and the manuscript remained undisturbed. But one day, it was taken by the minor God of duplicity Mogdal while they were seeking amusement. They had taken a liking to humanities ways and had spent some time among them in disguise. After the theft, Mogdal cast the covenant into an abyss of fire and it was destroyed forever. From this point, humans gained true sentience and grew in intellect. However, what they would never know was who had set them free as Mogdal was tortured to death after giving themselves up. Due to the Gods having not created the First Covenant of their own volition, they knew not how to bring forth a second document. It was not only the first, but also the last covenant of the Sun.
