However, Tanthia is also a city marked by stark class divisions. The lower classes in Tanthia are discriminated against, and their movement throughout the city is restricted through the use of tollgates. Anyone passing through a tollgate is required to pay a small sum of money, which amounts to a day's wage for most people in the city. This effectively limits the movement of the lower classes, forcing them to remain in their assigned districts and preventing them from exploring other areas of the city.
Furthermore, the port, which is the only area of the city that is free to move about in, is also a dangerous place.
