Crystalians
Excerpt from a journal of Imortalium Crystal Researcher Markas Chrom
...Perhaps the most dangerous thing of the Imortalium Crystals is what can happen if one of us mortals, excluding the dwarves, are foolish enough to to touch a raw crystal for it causes irreversible changes to the body. Touching a Major crystal causes one to grow to the size of the Amazonian Knights but also tend to make one evil as their body turns to crystal. Though there is apart of me that thinks that it's more like they become a completely different person. after all the vile creatures go on about the empire their kind had long ago in ancient times.
…I have made an alarming discovery. I once thought while the crystalians have been returning they seemed weaker. After all they haven’t seemed to wield the awe-inspiring power and size that once made humans and other mortals worship them in fear. I was wrong…dead wrong. While these weaker crystalians certainly exist, I have spotted one the size of sphinx (size pending) just like they were in ancient times. It’s power of destruction was incredible and was attacking a poor village and had routed a local garrison of Amazonian Knights. I would have surely been killed if not for the intervention of a sphinx that had reunited with the Agreian Elf clan that took on her name. between the clan and the sphinx there were able to lay low the Arch Crystalian. However, where there is one there is surely more. I can only hope they are few in number. I don’t wish to see the days of the Crystalian Empire the ancient text speak of.
