However, wielding them comes at immense risk, as their unpredictable nature can lead to significant harm befalling the wielder.
When a magic user holds a Mana Stone while casting a spell, the stone dramatically amplifies the potency of their magic, elevating the spell to heights far beyond the caster's usual capabilities. The surge of magical energy that ensues can result in dazzling displays of power, capable of defying the laws of reality. However, this uncontrolled augmentation of magic also carries grave consequences. The immense power coursing through the magic-user can strain their physical and mental faculties, leaving them fatigued and vulnerable to potential magical backlash.
The origins of Mana Stones remain unknown and obscure, with no historical records or accounts shedding light on how these extraordinary crystals came into existence or were discovered.
Curiously, a refined variation of the Mana Stone has been transformed into a drinkable potion. This elixir bears the symbol of the Seat of Necromancy, a clandestine group known for their mysterious endeavors in developing arcane tools for the Unified Fleet and serving as an official segment of the prestigious Azure Academy.
Despite the alluring power that Mana Stones offers, they remain objects of caution and fear. Utilizing them without due diligence has resulted in catastrophic effects, ranging from severe physical injuries to uncontrolled and hazardous magical surges.

Mana Stones have been discovered in a minimum of three distinct states. The first variation is a shimmering green crystal, found within a downed airship in the Galbadian countryside.

A different type of stone surfaced in the possession of an agent of the Petty King, a burgeoning crime organization within the Homont Kingdom. This particular stone exhibited a bluish-purple hue and appeared more akin to ore rather than the typical crystalline form.

Finally, the group stumbled upon a liquid form of the Mana Stone, which had undergone at least one refinement process to create a potion. However, upon ingestion, the drinker experienced a catastrophic explosion of magical fire that liquefied stone and glassed the earth beneath their feet. Remarkably, the imbiber remained physically unharmed, but the experience left them drained and temporarily devoid of their arcane abilities.
