Artifice, called so for it is an artificially created world, boasts more than twenty thousand years of recorded history thanks to memory storage mediums known simply as "Archives". No simple thing to summarize, this. Thankfully, your life occurred within the most recent millennium so we've no need to recount it all.   You find yourself on the Pangeaic mega-continent known as Baldorra during the Great Unrest. Psionic humans (Nulls), mundanes and arcanists of magical birthright live side-by-side. All mortal races, human and non, enjoy the comradery and protections of the Collective Culture Pacts. The general public is safe from "true sciences" and Arcana-Compelled technology safeguards us. All peoples walk the paths of enlightenment that they may be forever free of the shackles of Theology and the Gods.
