Soul Form (Su)

As a swift action or as free action combined with another action, you invigorate yourself and enter soul form for one round by using up a point of your soul pool. The soul form provides either +4 natural armor bonus to Armor Class, +4 dodge bonus to Armor Class, DR/- equal to 5 plus half their level that stacks with any existing DR the character possesses, +5 damage, or +4 attack bonus, as well as special bonuses taken from the eidolon evolution list using the character's total level as their effective summoner level to determine evolution points.

Soul points can be gained from special actions:

  • Attacking a creature with their listed weakness provides one soul point per round.
  • Exploiting an individual's weakspot, such as through called shot, provides one soul point. Individual weakspots can be physical like an old injury, emotional like a character's irrational fear of something, it could be a morale weakness like exploiting one's code of honor or oaths, or even an allergy via poisoning like seafood or bees.
  • Bypassing a creature's natural damage reduction by using the proper material provides one soul point. This does not apply to DR/- or DR/magic.
  • Being targeted by an attack or ability directly or in an area three times in one turn provides one soul point.
  • Once per day, you can roll a 1d20 against a DC 15 as a free action to gain one soul point.
  • Countering a spell or spell-like abilities without use of dispel magic, greater dispel magic, or counterspell abilities and class features, provides one soul point.
  • Using spells or spell-like abilities in combination with other spells, spell-like abilities, the environment, or items, to perform ingenious effects, provides one soul point. - Using abilities to protect an ally, provides one soul point.
  • Using the environment to produce ingenious results, provides one soul point.
  • Acquiring a circumstance bonus to an ability check or skill check based on successful roleplay, provides one soul point.
  • Any moment or action of particular ingenuity up to the DM's discretion, provides one soul point.
  • Moments or actions related towards the progression or completion of a player character's background, backstory, or overall goals, completely fills their soul points.

The soul pool cannot hold more point past an amount equal to half your level, all points past this amount are lost and points cannot be regained while in soul form. Any soul pool points that are not spent by the time the character rests are lost.
