Lionel (ˈlē-(ˌ)ō-ˈnel)

The pride of an unquenchable ambition.

Powerful leonine warriors how originate from the continent of Kilopsia whose prideful nature can be seen as both a benefit and detriment in their everyday lives in the modern era, some unable to accept those around them as equals, while others do so either begrudgingly or sincerely after witnessing the feats of others.   Physical Description: The most obvious of their features and morphology is their spectacular resemblance to a bipedal lion, often of white, multiple browns, grey, or astonishingly rarely black fur and mane. However, the first notable difference that shows extreme convergence is the relative lack of gender dimorphism, both male and female lionel often being large, heavy, strong, and having manes. Their slit eyes only seen with blue, brown, red, or yellow schlera, with the actual pupil being somewhat difficult to see and a notable lack of an iris. They have digitigrade feet that rests on fairly toughened pawpads, and possess claws that also perform functionally similar to nails on both their feet and hands, while the pads on their hands are often softer due to not being used for walking, their thumb, notably lacking a pad. Their tail ends in a plume of fur of similar color to their mane and often can help with balance. Their face can be described as bearing a snout with a nose meant to sweat to help regulate heat, have distinct lack of whiskers on their face for a feline species and bear a large array of teeth inside their mouth.

Society: Often considered a warrior culture, the lifes of the lionel is often one of living light on their feet and even a spacious home often ending up fairly spartan unless the lionel takes specific interest in a trade, topic, or even hobby due to their competitive desires. Though this is not to say they are not skilled craftsman or builders when necessary, often prefering very prestigious metals and stones for their towns and goods. Their boisterous and driven nature often meaning that when lionel do commit to a project, they put their heart and soul in it, often resulting in grand designs and intricate armor, equipment, and furnishings. When combined with their warrior nature, this often leads lionel to wear and wield more stylized or boisterous equipment to satisfy their ego and make them stand out among other combatants, though often they still atempt to be light on their foot and to not be weighed down by that they bring with them.   Relations: Lionel have previously been a large swathe of tribes who had waged war in the ancient era, viewing themselves as superior to the humanoids who dwelled on the kilopsian continent, however, after harsh conditions and the harsher era of the dark war, many lionel saw themselves standing besides those they previously raided and berated. Now they often understand the strengths of others within the brigandine but have difficulty handling or accepting certain cultural standards despite their own culture seeing a restoration within the brigandine and the etsablishment of a proper country. Their difficulty understanding cunning, ingenuity, and underhanded tactics often leave them at odds and arguing with goblins, kobolds, humans, and rouac. Inversely, they more easily treat larger people such as minotaurus or draschtef as equals due to their physique, the strengths of them often more direct.   Alignment and Religion: Lionel prefer worship of more direct gods, such as gods of war, battle, warriors, beasts, or even food and the hunt. This leaves them relatively satisfied within the brigandine's conglomerate, combined with their dislike of underhanded or 'weak' gods in their view, often leaves them unlikely to be within cults due to their proud and boisterous nature. The lionel often are of any alignment, even if seemingly abrasive to some.   Adventurers: Due to their desire to fulfill themselves spiritually, they often seek glory and head out to prove themselves. As such lionels often make great adventurers and often end up as charismatic warriors and knights in a party, though some do take to more unusual methods of strength.
