Koxeer are crustacean centaurs of the sea, they are well known for pushing their way around but equally known for their loyalty to those who have earned their claw in friendship.

Physical Description: Koxeer's most prominent feature is their strong shell that covers their whole body, which comes in a wide variety of colours, from salmon pinks to pastel blues. They possess four arms, the upper two being massive crushing and pinching claws that are usually one of their main choice of weapons while the lower two being used for societal needs. A koxeer has 8 legs that it uses to travel both in water and on land that maintain balance thanks to it's lobster-like tail. A koxeer's eyes are usually featureless black beads.

Society: Koxeer society is one of keen memory and past experience being used to get ahead. Koxeer have good memory in regards to things that have caused them trouble in the past and as such commonly pick their career to either avoid it or to easily overcome it and also commonly pick a career based on joyful experiences in their past, regardless of the shallowness of either of these choices. However this also means koxeer end up having their position in society decided early on in their life and almost always sees this set in stone.

Relations: Koxeer relations are usually a mix of aggression, teasing, and active tribal elements such as war dances. Koxeer interact among themselves no different then they would treat other races, but do have a notable affinity to anemones which they usually allow to grow and hitch a ride on their shell, even if the anemone might be too big to support.

Beliefs and Religion: Koxeer are not known to be particularly spiritual, often worrying more about material matters too commonly. Thoughts on the cosmos or gods can be quite concerning for a koxeer due to the uncertainty of the mechanisms of the universe that leaves them preferring to be left alone but are willing to give quiet yet sparse prayers to those that demand it.

Adventurers: Koxeer in the oceans are well preferred by sailors and aquatic folk alike as front liners such as barbarians or fighters due to their natural bulk and are able to be employed anywhere that they are willing to visit.

  • Ability Score Racial Traits: Koxeer possess brutish strength and keen intellect, but are lacking in sense. They gain +2 Strength, +2 Intelligence, and -2 Wisdom.
  • Type: Koxeer are creaturals with the aquatic subtype.
  • Size: Koxeer are Large creatures. They suffer a -1 size penalty to AC and attack rolls. They gain a +1 size bonus to CMB and CMD but suffer a -4 size penalty to Stealth checks. It has a space of 10 feet by 10 feet but only has a reach of 5 feet.
  • Base Speed: Koxeer have a base speed of 30 ft, and a swim speed of 20 ft.

  • Shell Exoskeleton: Koxeer have a thick arthropod shell that provides a +2 natural armor bonus to armor class.

Senses Racial Traits

  • Darkvision: Koxeer have Darkvision can see perfectly in the dark up to 60ft.
  • Low-Light Vision: Koxeer have Low-Light Vision and can see twice as far as humans in dim light.

Movement Racial Traits

  • Malacostrasan Stride: Koxeer have a +8 racial bonus to swim checks and have a swim speed of 20 ft.

Other Racial Traits

  • Amphibious: Koxeer are amphibious and can breath above ground and underwater.
  • Four Armed: Koxeer have four arms, its two upper arms possess massive crustacean claws that lack the required tactile maneuverability to be used for anything other then attacking or holding objects. However it's lower arms, while smaller, are perfectly usable like a normal humanoids.
  • Many-Legged: Koxeer possess eight legs and cannot be tripped.
