The head of House Solos and Astra Nova's arcane arts professor. Sho Mao-Long, or as he is commonly called Kilik, is known as one of Astra Nova's most wise teachers. Whilst there are rumors he grew up with a very rough life west of the Gallant Sea, students and teachers alike know him for his cool demeanor, sage advise, and quite a lot of proverbs to share. Though he comes off a serious and rarely so much as smiles, he shows genuine care for his students, and puts a great deal of importance into what he educates. He's a master of unarmed combat and near unrivaled in terms of reflexes and sense of balance, highly in tune with his powerful reserves of regalia. He's not one to start fights, but is very apt at finishing them, known to be able to reason with people first to achieve a peaceful outcome, but underneath his academic appearance and reserved attitude, is a living weapon of a beastfolk who can go the extra mile with his tempered skills and honed endurance.

Kilik has a well trained suite of senses that can pick up minute details, and a body he has trained to better allow him to keep control during combat. He is very well built despite his academic fashion sense, and his sense of balance and dexterity allow him to navigate difficult or narrow terrain with ease. He can even accomplish more subtle but potent feats like using the sound of his enemy's heart beat, clothing ruffles, and breathing to track them and sense changes in guard or demeanor. He is well acquainted with anatomy and chakra points, both of which he uses to improve his ability to guard, attack, and shutdown the strategies of opponents.

Kilik is Astra Nova's arcane arts professor. As such, he is one of the go to experts for the analysis and utilization of magic, in charge of teaching students how to properly wield and maintain implements, how to utilize magic spell component materials, how to write scrolls and decipher magic text, and also identify signs of magic and their signatures. He guides combat casters and spellblades alike on how to both utilize magic to their benefit in a professional field as well as defend against it. He also functions more generally as a writing and literature teacher. His classes are often done in a hybrid of both indoor and outdoor sessions, and sometimes utilize physical exercises and mnemonics in conjunction with traditional learning, and all students partaking in his classes will learn how to meditate, not for spiritual reasons, but to help them get better sleep and yield more results when thinking and communicating, a practice he himself does in his free time.
