Headmaster Greta Melanor Hawthorne

Greta has been the proud Headmaster of Astra Nova for over 30 years. She's and knowledgeable, and wants all the best for all of the students at the school. Headmaster Hawthorne is known to be a conservative and respected woman, rather kind and cheerful. She maintains a formal relationship with all the students and teachers of the academy. She also proves to be a very patient and good-hearted person, being very accommodating of her students, even the most problematic ones. She has a good sense of humor and prefers compromise over conflict. She is a great talker and speaks endlessly about things with no meaning. She tends to make very long discourses. All of the faculty give her ample respect, and she has been known to have quite the ability to plan several steps in advance. She has roots as a traditionally trained witch, and is knowledgeable on many older forms of magic.

Hawthorne is a small woman, short and compact in stature. Her age is apparent in the kind lines of her face, and most would come to say that she has a "personality you can't help but respect."

Apparel & Accessories

Hawthorne typically wear a formal outfit or simple gown of some sort as well as a cozy shawl. Her hat is actually made out of fungus fiber and absorbs toxins and spell effects that collide with it. Hawthorn has creeping vines that run down her back as well as her wrists, though they are typically concealed most of the time.

Personal history

Hawthorne is a traditonal witch of the Garmnettle Coven, a long standing family bloodline of witches from northeastern Sonenheim. Like all witches of considerable power, the more connected she becomes to her coven abilities, the tighter the bond she becomes to Yggdrevir, a fabled old tree the size of a mountain said to be located in a far off land where witchcraft is said to have truly originated from. This connections causes witchs to overtime take on natural aspects to themselves representing their growing oneness with Yggdrevir. Some grow vines from their wrists and ankles, whilst some grow the ability to breath spores from their mouths, and others still have skin that turn thicker and textured like bark. Hawthorne is no different, and given her age and experience, has taken on traits herself. She came to Astra Nova by invitation of it's previous headmaster, the wise warlock Duran Cosmoloch. The two would spend days discussning and exchanging stories. Duran would later come to ask upon his deathbed, fading away of old age, for Greta to take his place as headmaster, to which she graciously promised him to do so. Hawthorne has stood as the figurehead of the school ever since.
