Slade
Urist beheld the writings of the Daemon god Xhinmhinmahanmhinmahar. And Urist dropped the Adamantine mug. Deadstone slab binding silk page. Urist trembled at the tome of Slade. And Urist spoke to Armok "It is terrifying."
Properties
Material Characteristics
An almost unnaturally dark green stone, nearly pitch black. When disturbed, an almost luminous lime green vapour is given off.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Slade has as extreme material properties as Adamantine. It is extremely dense, 9.348 times as dense as platinum and comparable to the cores of stars such as Sol. It retains the temperature of wherever it came to be in, with a near infinite specific heat capacity and immeasurably small heat conductance. A "dead" stone, Slade is impossibly hard, impossible to work by mortal means.
Geology & Geography
Slade has no officially recognized source, though unconfirmed rumors exist of "Eerie caverns of Slade, buried deep beneath the Adamantine Spires."
Life & Expiration
Despite the emission of vapours, Slade has never been observed to deteriorate or lose mass over time.
History & Usage
History
Slade, like Adamantine, another material not native to the Dwarven homeworld Sodeldurad, has been known since time immemorial. Found in the form of indestructible Daemonic artifacts, Slade has been shrouded in myth and superstition for millennia. Considered a "dead" stone due to the impossibility of working the material, Slade artifacts are even rarer than Adamantine, though far less coveted. Tales exist of "Eerie caverns of raw Slade, buried deep beneath the Adamantine spires", never confirmed but always associated with colonies that suddenly fell silent.
Everyday use
Nope.
Cultural Significance and Usage
Slade is heavily associated with the Daemons of ancient myth. Considered foul, evil and "dead", Slade is feared and shunned by most Dwarves. Despite it's rarity, almost nobody wants to be associated with artifacts made from accursed Slade.
