HEV Suit MK I
A basic, bog standard Hazardous Environment Suit, standard issue for all CMC expendable personnel.
The MK I HEV Suit is a lightweight set of protective armour, made up of lightweight alloy plating and flexible composite weaves, giving users a full range of mobility and several more minutes of life in hostile environments.
- It is resistant to most small arms fire, and the plates are capable of resisting low calibre rifles and shotgun blasts.
- The plates are capable of absorbing low powered lasers, though sustained absorption will strain the suit's heat exchangers. The weave is vulnerable to lasers.
- Plasma and some chemical weapons will quickly degrade and eat through the suit's plates, weaves and seals.
- It has just enough padding to shrug off reasonably strong blows without issue.
- It contains basic medical systems that automatically administer painkillers and automatically amputate and cauterize damaged limbs.
- It comes with enough life support equipment to keep someone alive for up to a month, assuming nothing is actively attempting to kill them.
- It is able to operate in temperatures close to Absolute Zero, but will start to struggle with temperatures over 473 Kelvin.
- It is equipped with extra straps and hooks for carrying, holstering and stowing extra bits of kit.
- It contains medical syringe injector ports.
