With multiple sentient races and thousands of different cultures spanning tens of thousands of years of history going back to the discovery of fire, it is unsurprising that there are more religions in the world than nations. While each set of beliefs are unique to the individual, common traditions are shared by cultures almost more so than the overall belief itself. Within each major religion are dozens of recognized denominations, and within each denomination there are variations on practices and even interpretations. The study of religious traditions could easily become overwhelming for an individual trying to record every variation of worship. In an attempt at simplicity, the religions here are broken by their historical origin, with only the most universal set of beliefs described.
