Araddrian
Description
Araddrian, or Araddri in its own language, is a type of elvish language used in the kingdom of Vennis Araddria in the world of Arostera.
Notable Grammar Rules
Its grammar rules include the below:
- the vowel 'i' at the end of a word often denotes the singular nature of a word, and is mostly used of people rather than things. (e.g. araddri, theriph)
- the same letter is also used of languages.
- the letter 'o' denotes the plural nature of a word (e.g. araddro, therom, theroph)
- the 'ia' suffix of a word is often used of larger places like countries.
- When showing possession or a relationship between two ideas as with the use of the preposition 'of' in English, a genitive conjugation is used.
- the ending vowel of a genitive plural noun will conjugate to 'ae.' (e.g. Dimis Araddrae)
Origin
The language was named after Araddra, the ancient founder and leader of the first Araddrian kingdom which he founded with his followers from an insurgence he created within the Kingdom of Baafarod. Much of Araddri and Baafarodi are nearly identical with minor spelling and dialectal differences, but Baafarod has since undergone ethnic mixing which has resulted in the pollution of its original language. As such, Araddri is closer to the original Baafarodi.
