Walk of Fate
Followers of the Walk of Fate believe that there are gods that guide the devout through the random and unpredictable elements of life. Different sects hold to a different number of deities ranging from a single one to countless ones and even sects that hold to the same number don't always agree on their names or attributes. Fortunately, at least during the first few centuries of the Age of Reclamation, the sects were few and far enough apart that they rarely clashed and individual practitioners didn't hold the beliefs strong enough to clash with each other. However, it is believed that if the sects continued to grow and run into each other with greater frequency, it could result in conflicts.
In addition to conflicting attributes, names, and numbers of deities, there are also conflicting beliefs on how the will of these deities should be interpreted. Some believe in more vague interpretations using paint splatter or tea leaves, some are a bit more structured with the use bones or cards, while a growing number of followers use a coin or variously-sized dice to determine the will of the gods.
Of those that use a coin or die to read and will of the gods and follow the Walk of Faith, there are many that believe a coin is the best way as it requires the individual to break the choices in half numerous times before arriving at the final decision, claiming that the more extensive process allows for greater communion with the deities. Those that don't hold to this view will usually carry a pouch of varying die sizes to allow a decision to be made with as few rolls as possible.
Structure
Culture
Daily practice of the faith depends on the sect, but those that utilize a coin or dice will usually carry special variations of these objects, called Diviners, to make anywhere from a handful of decisions to every single decision. Individual practitioners that are not part of a sect will usually just flip or roll their Diviner important decisions. There are some markets where purchases are made solely with Diviners.
Obviously, there is significant overlap between the Walk of Fate and gambling, though gambling used without Diviners is condemned.
Public Agenda
There are no areas where the Walk of Fate is the dominant religion, so they usually do not play much into politics or the public agenda. However, areas with some of the larger sects, there is a growing movement to put more of its members into government, claiming that the will of the gods need to be interpreted and enforced in their communities.
History
It is believed that variants of the Walk of Fate existed during the Age of Ascension, but it was reduced to just a handful of followers spread across the world by the end of the War of Ashes. These followers founded the sects during the Age of Ice, which continued on into the Age of Reclamation.
