Soul-Speak

Soul-Speak is considered the most universal language among those that have learned this magical ability. It allows beings with a spirit to interpret and transmit feelings and thoughts to each other. Its context is limited as it lacks a somatic, verbal, or written component. However, it has proven significantly useful to practitioners of Magic that seek to learn a new language as it can allow individuals that do not speak the same language to tie somatic, verbal, and written elements to specific meanings, greatly accelerating the Learning process. It can also be used to add additional meaning to communication between beings that do speak the same language, whether that be to deepen understanding or hide intention from those that can not utilize Soul-Speak.

Another element of Soul-Speak is that it involves the sharing of thoughts and feelings, so it is incredibly difficult to lie or mislead when communicating in this way.

Soul-Speak is also leveraged as one of the reasons Magic users are distrusted if not banned in many societies. Due to Soul-Speak essentially being where the conscious part of two or more spirits interacting with each other, most uses of it result in both parties experiencing each other's feelings and thoughts. Skilled Magic users are capable of reading the feelings and thoughts of others without sharing their own, but this is a difficult skills to develop, which has resulted in non-magic users in close proximity to Magic users experiencing feelings and thoughts that are not their own. This usually results in Magic users being ostracized, outcast, or, in some cases, killed. Even Magic users that are skilled enough to avoid detection often suffer the same fate as it is commonly know that they have this ability, leading many to believe that their feelings and thoughts are being read or stolen even if there is no evidence to support that claim.
