Scourge Curse
The fear of the Scourge stems from a theory that they were once proud members of the Arokans population but lost their feathers, fur, hair, hide, scales, tails, wings, etc. when they committed the ultimate crime of killing and eating another sentient being. Even the Feral Tribes never seem to resort to this except in the most dire of situations and, when they do, those that partook are usually banished or killed. Since encounters with Scourge are both rare and deadly, there has been no real evidence for this apart from the fact that Scourge are renown for consuming their sentient prey and that non-Scourge that do the same tend to adopt more aggressive, cannibalistic, and overall Scourge-like mannerisms.
