Lonely Tyrant

Aroka is a dangerous world with countless monsters capable of making a quick end of even the most prepared explorer. The jungle of Okanu is home to many of these creatures, their calls, howls, and roars echoing throughout the wilderness. There are members of the Coalition and Consort that specialize in matching these sounds with the appropriate monster if it happens to be one their scouts have both encountered and survived. The list is not extensive, but it's good enough to know when something truly horrific is on the prowl and venturing out would be nothing short of suicide. However, there has been a recent addition to the chorus. A deep, guttural howl has been heard every few nights reverberating through the canopy. When this beast calls out, all other calls cease as if the jungle itself is holding its breath. Thankfully, no one has heard a answer to its cry so many hope there is just one of it. Because of this, it has been nicknamed the Lonely Tyrant. It is clearly the alpha predator on the island and even the most terrifying of the monsters encountered thus far seem to retreat to their dens, hives, and nest when it announces it presence. Those whose duties lie beyond the walls of civilization wonder at what this new arrival could be to disrupt the rhythm of the wilderness so powerfully, but those with a lick of sense pray they never find out.
