Knights of the Scroll

The Knights of the Scroll is a somewhat secretive organization dedicated to recovering as many secrets of Aroka as they can. Even most small towns have been visited by a representative of the organization, so their existence is well known but what they do is still a mystery.

Structure

Without being able to investigate interact with the larger organization, it is unclear how they are structured. In most cases, representatives of the Knights of the Scroll travel alone or in pairs, usually well-equipped and well-trained to brave the wilderness. However, in rare cases where a group of three or more are seen, they are usually accompanied by less adventurous individuals that seem to be scholars of the organization as well as a heavily-armored escort.

Public Agenda

Every presentative encountered freely admits that they are in search of lost artifacts and knowledge; to what end is left a mystery.

Assets

Representatives are almost always well-equipped and highly trained, many seeming to possess magical abilities or technologically advanced gear.

Demography and Population

Representatives of Knights of the Scroll come in all species, even rarer ones, raising some question as to how they recruit new members.

Technological Level

Based on the Equipment representatives carry, they seem to have access to technology beyond what even the most advanced technology of the common age, suggesting that the organization existed prior to the First Firefall or has been unable to repair or reverse engineer ancient technology.

Laws

While representatives of the Knights of the Scroll respect local law, there have been reports of them violating these laws to get a hold of whatever information or object they were after, usually disappearing shortly thereafter. This suggests that they see themselves as above the law.

Sects

Larger cities that have seen more representatives of the Knights of hte Scroll than average have reported a variety of color schemes or uniforms. Some speculate that these may belong to different sects of the organization, each with a different mission.

Unknown, but it is believe to have been founded during the Age of Ice
Currency
While most representatives do use local currencies or goods to trade, the few scholars that have been encountered trade in information, often revealing a mysterious bit of knowledge about the world in exchange for that information they seek. In most cases, the knowledge they share is of little use in isolation, leaving the recipient confused more than anything else.
